  • So this one was a really fun one to play... (particularly hard without a conductor at the 2 timpani part at 04:55 , but still a nice challenge).
I've loved this symphony since for ever now, and never actually sat down to record any of it.
In case you're curious, the beginning of the 3rd movement (02:37) is one of the many excerpts we normally have in a orchestra audition, so as you can imagine it's a good idea to memorize it together with the ''choreography'' of the body and pedaling plan, for there's too much going on. SUPER HELPFULL TIP!!
Anyway, as always thank you so much for your love and for taking the time to watch!
Of course, feel free to share this video, and follow me on social media

Great display of the double tympani part. The best I've found. I've always been busy in the double bass section and could only hear what was going on.

Those who say classical music is boring probably haven't heard of this. Bravo.

Very cool. A lot of fast pedal changing in the 3rd movement.

Have seen several (RHS) tympanist use both sticks for both drums on the very last four notes, to get max volume I guess. This was fascinating to a listener of Nielsen, and something you hardly ever get to see. Thanks.
