I work in a maternity unit. Don‘t bring the fluffy slippers to the hosp. At the beginning you can bleed a lot (escpesialy when you layed a lot and then stand up). Some times you bleed down your legs and blood can go on your slippers. Bring some you can easy clean and you could stand under the shower. Also if the room seems to be clean, you could get fungus at the feets.
You should do a video on baby names. Ask everybody in your family (both sides) what they would prefer, and talk about how you've decided on the baby name.
Take cheap, slip on flip flops incase you need/want to shower in the hospital. No one wants bare feet in a hospital shower lol! Also grab witch hazel pads, it helps reduce swelling and soothes your lady parts after delivery. Best of luck to you and Jon!
So genuine how you think thru what he would need. This is motherhood, thinking about someones needs before they even present.I am with you in my taughts and thank you for sharing this beautiful journey!
So excited for you Janni! 🥰 I’ve been following you for years now, but these (more regular) baby vlogs lately make me so happy 🤗 you’re glowing so much! Good luck girl 🍀👼🏼💪🏽
Your eyes light up as soon as you mention the little guy, so endearing. I found pacifiers is up to the baby my one child absolutely refused and my other it was a life line. Go with the flow.. Best advice go with your gut feeling. Obviously ask questions with the right people but at the end of the day it is your decision. Black black 👍👍 Cabbage leaves works wonders when l had my babies the hospital gave me cabbage leaves the next day as my boobs had increased by about 3 sizes l was in so much pain. I thought they had lost their minds when the nurse threw 2 large cabbage leavez😅😂🤣😁. But oh me were they so right as every product l had did not work like those cabbage leaves. Ask your sister if she has ever heard of cabbage leaves. Last but not least take it in your stride the same as everything you do. You have it in your power and control. Breath just breath. You are going to be the best mother ever. God bless you and your family. You are still on fire WOW Thanks for sharing
I remember seeing the Instagram post several months ago where you and Jon announced the pregnancy. And It’s so crazy to think that he’s right around the corner! 🤩 You and Jon are going to be such great parents, Janni! ❤️ I’ve been watching you and Jon for at least 3 years now, and i couldn’t be more happy for you. And i honestly have to say that you look so smashing with a pregnancy belly!💘 stor kram från Norge
It a joy to see you prepare and looking forward to meet you baby boy. I’m so happy for you, a child surely is a blessing.❤🥰 This video brought me on a trip down memory lane- my daughters are now 27 and 29… the youngest born on the birthday of the oldest🥰❤. Time flies so fast.. be thankful for every day with your son and enjoy- which of course you will, positive Janni. Your my kind of person, life is so much better when staying grateful and joyful! 🥰🙏🏻Blessings to you and your family! ❤🌟🌺
Christel Jonsson mittens have been a thing for babies forever. You don’t cut a newborns nails immediately because they are so soft from being in the amniotic fluid that’s you can easily cut too far and snip their fingertips.
First of all, congratulations! This is a great time and you seen all prepared :) When I gave birth, I brought treats for the nurses at the hospital (a big box of cookies and an assortment of teas), they really appreciated the gesture....just an idea! :) wish you the best!
I love how Janni seems so calm and ready for the baby, and when you see Jon talking about all this baby stuff, he seems kind of lost, I think it will be quite overwhelming for him 😅 But you're gonna be great parents, I'm sure!
Maybe some mittens or bodys with mittens with them already, or you can just put the socks on the hands instead of mittens. I was too scared to cut my baby boys nails at the begining. Also in my experiance I needed to have more baby clothes bcz we had some acidents. (but I also stayed 5 days in the hospital) For myself I didn't really need that much stuff, pair of pj's, slipers, nursing bra, pads and actually a few diapers for myself.. The first days was hard bcz I had some problems with bleeding too much so diapers were great, I did not have strenght to move so much and I just bled too much for the pads... Don't want to scare anyone with this, just my expiriance.. Maybe if you don't want to bring so much stuff to the hospital just put some stuff in an extra bag at home so somebody can just grab it if you need anything
Hi Jani - a friend suggested I wore a nightie with buttons all down the front so i could wear it completley open at the front and baby could be delivered straight onto the skin of my tummy then lay against my skin and feed to recover from the shock of delivery (a soft towell over her back for warmth and didnt bath her until she was calm from her first feed )- my husband also wore a shirt which could unbutton to be completely open at the front and when it was time for me to have a couple of stitches my husband could sit in a chair with the baby on his chest with skin to skin contact and a blanket over - this was a 🤗Wonderful bonding experience 🤗 and the smell of skin calmed and bonded our 1st baby so well we did the same thing for our 2nd daughter 💕🐇🐇 it made calm babies ! We thought we would feel afraid on the way to the hospital but when we got into the car we were suddenly filled with HUGE excitement - we said "Wow its like we are driving to the airport to meet our own child off a plane !! 💕😍😍💕🐇 Enjoy 💑 x
In most countries they give you clothes for the baby at the hospital :) you only have to bring the „homecoming“ outfit :) So excited for your upcoming vlogs with him. :)
I would also pack wet wipes for the baby. And for you paper towels, regular towels, body oil for your belly (take care of your skin), cheap flip flops that you can throw away - you do not want bacteria from hospitals shower in your home I also used protective paper for toilet seat (depends if you will be in privet hospital you might not need it). If you going to.forget anything Jon will bring it do not worry. Good luck🙂
I‘ve heard that it might be good to bring your own towels and toiletpaper, because the ones that they have in the hospital sometimes are not that soft and comfy enough for your sensible body after birth 😊 wish you the best of luck for you 3, greetings from Germany ❤️
Use pacifiers straight away and don’t wait too long to introduce bottles if you ever plan to pump/formula feed. I listened to everyone saying to wait and my baby girl didn’t take pacis until she was 3.5 months and still doesn’t take ANY bottles ( we have tried like every single one that can be bought) at 5.5 months
Bring your own pillow and maybe even blanket to be more comfortable. Also get some witch hazel pads, diapers (pull up), pads and numbing spray for post partum.
"Toiletries" I think is the word you were looking for. Yes, knee socks was something I was so glad I packed for each of my four children's births. I think you have packed a lot more of everything than you need, but you will find out. What an exciting time of life! You will do great!
I do not know as in other countries, but in my country recommends us to put on wool socks for newborns for better blood circulation. Also when they are born, their thermoregulation is so much unlike ours, so I prepare one layer more than myself.
So excited for you! Your baby will be beautiful. You might want to get a couple containers of “Tucks Pads” at the Drug Store to have for the first couple of weeks after the delivery. They can be a big help with discomfort. In the meantime take care of you! Getting lots of rest beforehand is a must even though you’ll still be tired the first few weeks after birth. Just “do you” the way you think is best. You’ll figure out what works right away for you. You’re going to be an awesome Mommy. 🤗💙🤗💗🥰 @JanniOlssonDeler

Tänkte ta tag i BB-väskan i helgen ❤️😊
This is so exciting, thank you for sharing 😍 I hope there won't be any complications and you can leave as soon as possible and deliver the baby as fast as possible and with the least amount of pain :) PS: I would probably throw away the slippers afterwards since you will sweep the floors of the hospital with them 😅
Maybe add a baby bath towel for after first bath at the hospital:) And cold compresses to use when you go to the loo first ,it takes the sting away! You just dont know how quick you recover in the skin tissues. Cold gels help, they can numb up tender tissue- also w nipples. Having your own breasfeeding cushion to lay baby on can really help you get comfortable positioning baby for first feeds, it can be hit n miss starting ,have drinks on hand + a straw so you dont fade out w thirst or fatigue mid feed:) Cushions are a Godsend!!
For Baby Boy: diaper rash cream, towel with hood, bottle with teat (You never know), tetra cotton diapers (for feeding), olive or lotion. For You: bath slippers, recent blood tests, ultrasound, intimate hygiene soap, disposable paper towels, and a lot of water.
You are super prepared which is great. I have given birth twice now and I over packed for myself. I was naked the first day and I think I wore the same thing 2 days after my shower because I couldn't be bothered getting dressed and bleeding everywhere. I literally wore leggings and oversized t-shirts with long cardigans as it was so cold in the hospital. Skincare I would recommend face wipes as you are either sharing a bathroom or you just don't want to be standing for too long in the bathroom. The hospital provided so many blankets for the baby that I didn't even need to use my own. that was just my experience those so everyone is going to be different but I really hope you have a great birthing adventure
When you are in pain during labor, have a mantra that you keep repeating. It will help you stay calm dealing with the labor pain. Example; “This too shall pass, this too shall pass.”
Breastpads for "leaks", you got the bath robes fine, after my 2nd baby my breastfeeding fashion is comfy sport/sleeping bra+ breastpads+ strechy neckline tops
Bring different types of pacifiers, most babies is really picky with it, consider mittens instead of doing something to his nails, i will Also really really really recomend swaddle and wrapping its called vikle in danish 😊
I'm having baby#3 very soon. With the first 2 labours, I left hospital 6hrs after birth. This time I'm planning on staying at least 1 night to bond with baby and recover away from my 2 and 3yr olds. So I will be taking more stuff.
Sounds like every thing needs to be washable.
I also work in a maternity unit and I was just about to write the same comment..
Don’t stress out to much. If you realize that you miss something you can still send Jon or Richard to get it. 😊 good luck with all!!
You should do a video on baby names. Ask everybody in your family (both sides) what they would prefer, and talk about how you've decided on the baby name.
You’re going to be a great mom for sure

jacq_cp you can’t speak for everyone😉 for me it has no matter and I would shower there barefoot
Depending on the quality of the hospital
You are well prepared. Praying for a safe and easy delivery.
Maybe no to the fluffy slippers you don’t want germs to get in them and take them home with you. Better clean new flip flops
Your eyes light up as soon as you mention the little guy, so endearing.
I found pacifiers is up to the baby my one child absolutely refused and my other it was a life line. Go with the flow.. Best advice go with your gut feeling. Obviously ask questions with the right people but at the end of the day it is your decision.

little mittens for his hands and some thin 'muslin' wraps so he feels safe and content after being born xx all the best on ur labour of ur baby boy !
Can’t wait for your little one! So happy for you janni and Jon 🦁
You guys are going to make wonderful parents! So excited for you
Mittens for the babies hands, so he doesn’t scratch his face or body x
Mittens!?!? Must be a really new thing. Cut your babies nails instead.
Christel Jonsson mittens have been a thing for babies forever. You don’t cut a newborns nails immediately because they are so soft from being in the amniotic fluid that’s you can easily cut too far and snip their fingertips.
@@christeljonsson4845 - NO, it has ALWAYS been a thing, so they don't scratch themselves!
I just recently saw a photo of myself as a baby, and I had sock in my hands because apparently I was a big scratcher 😅
Yep mine are 40 years old and the hospital list I took home from visiting the hospital pre-delivory had mittens for newborn.

LOVE your excitement and videos about the baby!!
so cute and fun to see you so exited over the baby, I'm so happy for you guys

so excited for you guys! can’t wait to meet him and hear your birth story 🥰
Good luck!! Don't forget baby wraps (swaddle) babies sleep much better when they are all wrapped up!!
I really love the baby stuff. I an so happy for you and Jon
actually he can wear both socks on different foot at the same time
I was about to say the same @jannid 😉 just mix the socks
With my three babies, noise canceling headphones were a must have for during labour to help me focus and after for watching stuff
Maybe some mittens or bodys with mittens with them already, or you can just put the socks on the hands instead of mittens. I was too scared to cut my baby boys nails at the begining. Wish you luck .... so exciting!! 🙋🏻😍😘
Maybe putting together a good playlist is nice to do aswell
your going to be an amazing mother dont stress that much

I agree on taking slippers you can throw away after. I wouldn't want all that hospital bacteria back to the house.
@@marianna3253 And I personally also don't like to shower barefoot somewhere else, since you can't shower with those slippers

Much success and a relaxed birth🍀
Maybe add a baby bath towel for after first bath at the hospital:) And cold compresses to use when you go to the loo first ,it takes the sting away! You just dont know how quick you recover in the skin tissues. Cold gels help, they can numb up tender tissue- also w nipples. Having your own breasfeeding cushion to lay baby on can really help you get comfortable positioning baby for first feeds, it can be hit n miss starting ,have drinks on hand + a straw so you dont fade out w thirst or fatigue mid feed:) Cushions are a Godsend!!
Have a small tote bag with all the first baby stuff you will bring with you to the delivery room (it reduces last minute stress).
I was born a month before the scheduled date😱 good luck❤❤

Hey janni which version of the fujifilm camera do you use ?
Can you please share link for your gorgeous diaper bag? Thank you!

I agree with the slipper comment. The first time I stood up after having my baby, the blood went all over my slippers and robe!
If he‘s fine without the pacifier then don‘t use it:) No need to get him used to things that he doesn‘t really need ☺️
