I lived on Hayling 20 yrs ago. I saw creek road area far worse than this several times. Its one of the lowest lying parts of Hayling.
The drains run out to sea, so when in Spring tides and stormy conditions the water doesn't have anywhere to go so they run slowly or seem like there are blocked.

Stands to reason that no drains could cope with that amount of water.
Back in the 1980's, a huge beach replenishment job was done, from Sandy Point nature reserve to Eastoke corner, in other words the whole length of Southwood Road, which is where you walked first in this video.

i lived there ten years and always saw carpark and roads down there flooded that house with the wall outside paid to have that wall fortified for insurance on the house
