  • I wanted to make this video for others that are trying to find an easy and cheap way to get a fogger for tropical reptiles. Keeping reptiles in generally not a cheap hobby. So if you want to be a reptile person, don't expect things to be cheap! and it can also be a lot of work. Its also very important to not get the cage to wet!!! having the cage to wet can be bad for the snake/lizard and may cause a respiratory infection.
    Link to fogger: www.amazon.com...

    this can also help birds with respiratory issues which is what I need it for. birds who are struggling to breath need to be placed in a room with as much mist/humidity/steam as possible for 30 mins to save their lives, it really helps them breath better. thanks, I will make a unit up using your idea and see how it goes.

      So there will be a little whole at the top of the cage that you can slide the cord through. That way you can hide it and make it look nice. Oh that's awesome! frilled dragons are cool!

    This seems like overkill especially for lizards that only need 70 to 90% humidity and this keeps it at close to 100% almost all the time. It completely soaked your tank and leaves in 2 minutes. Seems like this would cause wide scale mold and mildew growth as opposed to less finer and overwhelming misters. Just my thoughts, anyway.

    • @scooterstudios123
      @scooterstudios123 8 років тому +1

      oXketarouXo I have to be honest. Reptile merchandise is all a rip off.
      You know that ''big dripper'' Thing?
      It's literally just a plastic box with a hole cut in the bottom to put a valve in.
      And it sells for 10-15 pound.
      For a piece of plastic
      But yea i'll look into the cheap fogger

    • @oXketarouXo
      @oXketarouXo 8 років тому

      Yea I found the big dripper in a clearance shop and have one but also found similar products in pound land and B&M only missing a bit of tubing which isn't hard to put into it.
      Other option I've found besides the fogger is using a cheap waterpump to pump water from a container through tubing and through a sprayer but its only worth the hassle for animals requiring loads of water tbh.

    *Side note: mine was not going to be used solely to boost humidity. I wanted to put it in my Chinese Water Dragons pool area. Planned to build a special section into his pool to house the fogger. Bc I mean come on now.....how frigging cool would it be to have your CWD's pool mist and shine with rainbow lights right? Definitely gonna be the coolest CWD in the neighborhood. Lol. Talk about shattered dreams. Couldn't risk something going wrong and zapping my scaly dude stupid. He's way to amazing for that.

      Vanessa Bacallao I haven't heard of it being a problem, but I would say don't do it. Cause if you stick your finger on the white part of the mister that makes the actual mist it's self it can actually shock you a little bit. But if you just stick your finger in the water it won't shock you, it's just if you hold your finger on the white part of the mister for to long. It's not that bad of a shock at all, but since snakes like to soak in their water bowl, I wouldn't risk it. Cause I don't know if that would hurt the snake in anyway.

    If your snake puts its head in the fogger, will it be safe still for them? There's no heat or anything? What about electricity.

      No, this is really not a good idea at all. If you place your finger in the point where the fog its made its actually like being burnt.

      Chris Johnson I ordered one and I'm going to throw it away. It actually shocks the finger with a bit of electricity. Also it sprays the water too much.

      Yeah it's cheap and works but not safe for animals inside tanks. You could make your own enclosure fir it inside a bottle and have a tube carry the mist inside your enclosure

      @CatchItbrothers  7 років тому

      Not to long.... That is one thing that I don't like about this is that it can run out pretty quick.
