  • Now the track is laid, and wired up, its time to test out the layout. I've give it a thorough test, trying out a variety of stock that will be used. Its all really starting to come together. So off we go to the western suburbs of Glasgow (use your imagination at this stage!) and watch the days traffic at Whiteinch Victoria station....
For those that aren't aware, Whiteinch Victoria is based on Ian Futers' Victoria Park layout, as featured in Railway Modeller in December 2008, and in his book, Scottish Layout Projects - amzn.to/3Ex2aC4 - I've used the extra space I have in OO to add a centre road, for holding spare stock, and to have a proper station building.
My young son Michael wanted to test out his skills at video editing, so he's done all the editing on this video, in case you were wondering why it looked a little different. I think he's done a great job for a first attempt! Let us know what you think in the comments below.

You can almost smell the diesel fumes! What speaker do you fit with the Soundtraxx Econami sound chip? They sound great!

I've used the 20x20x7 Megabass speaker from Richard at Road and Rails. I use him for all my DCC decoders and speakers.

Really lovely - I'm inspired to try something similar. What kind of size are the baseboards you've used since you're doing it in 4mm instead of 7mm?
