- A heated but fun conversation with the one and only Paul Heyman. Listen as this industry veteran talks - and argues with me - about his ‘client’ Brock Lesnar being the cover star of the latest WWE video game 2K17, his thoughts on the current crop of WWE Superstars and what his opinions are on how the company use Roman Reigns.

From what I gather, shoot is not only going against the script, it's improvising on any given opportunity to build angles. Also, I believe SPPSports meant Paul Heyman staying true to his heel persona aka staying in kayfabe.

Oh man difficult, for the interviewer. He knows that Heyman is in Character (that's why he laughs after almost all of Heymans answers) and will act like a jerk no matter what questions he gets.
And the interviewer still has to go on like it is a normal interview. Heyman is a pro, stays in character all the time.
So Kudos to both, everyone played his roll very well! :)

I love Heyman. He's so committed to his advocate character. He makes it seem like he is like this all the time. Kayfabe isnt totally dead.

Ironic that Heyman applauds Reigns for taking ownership of his drug bust. Meanwhile Lesnar is desperately searching for some 'evidence' of a tainted supplement so he can fight again and cash another multi-million dollar cheque.
Brock doesn't really care because he has already made a name for himself. Reigns, well.............................................Look, the WWE are tryin' to make Roman look like the UNDERDOG even when just about everybody knows he comes from a Samoan-wrestling family, has The Rock tryin' to get him over, and Reigns was hand-pick to be the new face of WWE. Everything is done for him and he did something stupid.

People mad at Heyman for his interviews? Dude, he is giving both the watchers and the journalists their money's worth. As an interviewer, you want the person to be entertaining so that people will want to watch your stuff. Heyman is doing us all a favor. It's rarely about the answers, really.

Heyman has a very abrasive personality I notice.
This is him being mellow him during his ECW days and early WWF in 2001 when he was a commentator with Jim Ross he was 10 times worst he mellowed out with age so imagine what a younger Paul Heyman was like

I could listen to Paul all day. My favorite to interview him is Sam Roberts though. Say what you want about Sam but their videos together are priceless.
Paul is a genius
Wish he'd be more natural and less in character for interviews. Would love to pick his brain, the guy's a genius! But on the flip side you've got to respect his commitment!
Paul was more natural when he did interviews with the boys, including Stone Cold, Chris Jericho and Edge bc he has a great respect for them, for they have been directly involved with what goes on behind the fourth wall.
However, I believe you still need to protect this business. The problem is us fans know too much so that’s why there aren’t as many surprise returns or storylines. Either there is a dirt sheet writer noticing a star who has been on a hiatus from tv at the airport in the city of the next event so they leak it on social media and spoil the surprise or they just flat out control the storylines bc they aren’t happy with who is being pushed.
In short, let there be kayfabe and let the boys make wrestling feel real again. You don’t need to know everything behind the fourth wall. Let there be some mystique.

It's obvious that Paul and the guy have been friends or an off camera relationship just by the way Paul keeps smirking and the guy keeps laughing. Like some of you all need to chill out. I thought the interview was very funny. He gave real life and kayfabe at the same time I love it.
talk about Reigns failing drug test what about brock failing his was a huge fan now just feel disappointed that he needed to take drugs to beat mark hunt the man is a beast why the hell does he need drugs to beat someone up

i've not seen many interviewers that a specifically on point with their questions as it takes a lot of intelligence to do so and not then become contradictive. Paul needs to give these interviewers a break and just accept the questions in hand and answer them how he perceives.

10:53 Heyman is really ducking that question! Definitely awkward for Paul and I liked the pressure you kept applying trying to rephrase to get more outta him! To be fair; CM Punk made 2K13, Cena 2K15... not sure if Rollins, Ambrose, Owens are ready for it. Then AJ Styles is probably good for it, but still too new, Reigns THE GUY has the prestige, but so many hate him and they'd probably not buy in protest haha.
I don't know if you were touching on it, the part timer argument... e.g. Wrestlemania cards of recent years. THAT is something which is obviously damaging the credibility of the newer stars. The video game front cover isn't as big a deal imo, if they stop relying on older wrestlers to carry the big shows and storylines, the other wrestlers would grow and then be elevated to the status where they can be put on the cover.
Anyway, I'm subscribed. These are some of the best WWE interviews. Love the questions you ask I dunno how you don't have more views on these vids.

I wouldn't buy the stupid game now, just to spite Paul Heyman for being such an arse in all these interviews. We know he's a lawyer so why does he think its fun to take the piss out of someone just trying to do their job.
He is starting to love boring Lesnar and his eternal suplexe's just a bit too much for my liking. It feels like he's screwing Brock like Vince screws Cena, even if it is just for the money.
