😮 What did I just experience 😳? ILL SAY IT AGAIN!! I was born too late. I'm glad someone collected these records.
I absolutely love Ian Pooley. Great producer and such a quirky way of presenting himself. He's great
🙏🙏🙏
It's amazing listening to this guy talk about tracks. The level of analysis is unreal.
Yes it is - but every good DJ knows the History/facts about his fave Songs/Tracks ... I think so
it's great to listen to him talk about his production techniques as well. check those videos out too
Damn this dude samples and reviews tracks like an exquisite wine tasting
So great to see people actually know what they're talking about.
I've always loved Pooley's taste in music.
Pooley was a guy I listened too in my early days of deep house. Always loved his stuff.
Ian pooley since then album is pure genius
Ian Pooley is the goat. I dont think this dude has ever made a bad track, not even a 'just ok'' tune. The devil is in the details, he makes it sound easy, with judicious use of every element - never too much, never too little., A true connoisseur of all music, and it shows. his music is a clinic on sampling, sound design, arrangement and production. He comes from the era when dance music was not completely disposable, or viewed as such. even bangerzzz exude thoughtful consideration and style. A+++ (love the channel too Telekom, fantastic content)
i love ian pooley feat. rosanna & zelia - coracao tambor, that track make me know this guy
Ian Pooley has been my favourite DJ since I listened to him for hours and hours in a yoga studio in 2001 - he is the only producer I can dance, eat and sleep to with equal pleasure
For anyone interested: the mixer is a Vestax PMC 55 with DF-50 rotary module.
A true classic with incredible audio specs (like 120dB S/NR)!
Didnt jeff mills also use this mixer
@@nuendo2020he still uses it, but with many customisations. One of the reasons he likes it is because the eqs behave more like filters.
Ian Pooley has produced some of my all time favorite tracks, every time I hear them they take me to a happy place, so I'm really jazzed for this review. 💞
I loved his techno tinged stuff most, Chord Memory, Twin Gods, etc. Amazing producer.
This was a good one - they're best when the DJ is intelligent and articulate.
So true!
Of course its Ian Pooley! Legend.
Yeah he is brilliant and prolific. A living legend.
Ian Pooley is the best!! Thank you for featuring him in this series..
Thumbs-Up for the first B-side from Nicholas on 20.000ST. such a great n timeless record. The A-side is great as well
Amazing guy ! A lot of respect for him and the culture he share !
Mr Pooleys own B-sides are something else as well. 'The Bins' off the All Nighter EP is well worth a look.
I`m glad i saw the "DRAMA" Cover on the thumbnail - It`s actually a collaboration with May and Carl Craig and you can literally hear that due to the strings that sound quite "Craigy" :D The phenomenal artwork on the cover is what really gets me - I replicated this painting from Sarah Gregory ( who is actually the wife of Heaven 17 lead singer Glenn Gregory) on several posters and t shirts for personal use of course. ( Only on the British Kool Kat pressing)
Brilliant EP and must have for Hi Tech soul lovers. :D
✊🏻 Love a person that knows their stuff and can hear a producer even in the most obscure ways. Shows a real knowledge and passion. I know it sounds ridiculous, but at my peak of record purchasing, I could look at the grooves in a label, figure out the progression of a tune and often guess the producer correctly!
One of the first CDs I ever touched had a track from Ian Pooley, the name still rings a bell almost 30 years later.
Love these selections. But also 🙌🙌🙌 for Mr Pooley’s own releases!
You rock mr Ian Pooley !!! played you over and over ,and still do .for me you're music sounds like sunshine, sea pleasure, woman's love ,vintage ,happy feelings ,heart break sounds... not to forget dancing !
instant win right from the start - once I heard 'Nicholas' - I knew that it will be 'Silvering' - one of my favorite tunes EVER
Ian Pooley, one of my preferred djs, good selection. The last track is sublime. Thank you.
Nicholas - Silvering is so... cant describe it. No words for it.
Ian Pooley is great! Such a good advocate for music!
Thanks for sharing with us 👊🕊
Discovered Ian Pooley when I was in high school. I think he has become and remained my favorite artist.
Love this type of video to hear his take on it all. Was happy to hear him mention Nicholas’ Silvering. Love that mix on Nightlife.

Wish this was longer!! Xx so interested, so interesting ♥️
The Rhythm is Rhythm artwork is literally out off this world
Great vid, loved it!
Excellent selections, of course.
I used to listen to Ian Ian Pooley heavily in 2001 with his Since Then album.
I killed that LP! Great memories
@@stewiezjonder3924 FACTS!!!! 100 % agree
please Ian , do B side episodes weekly ! so so good.
I love that guy for long time now, hi is one of my influences. All the best to you Ian!
I'm a techno DJ, (also a bit of house) but became friends with a house DJ a few years back and we started mixing house together, so I got all my old house records out and found the compilation Ian talks about here! Found this track by "nicolas" (never heard of him) and absolutely loved it. My mate wasn't as keen as me, but good to know now that i was right! :P (coz Ian said so!)
Ian Pooley made some of the best techno records ever produced.
@@Stereo_type1982 yeah, I like his techno productions.
Mr Pooley is a legendary producer himself......I have a fair sized collection of his work :)
Yes yes and yes, that track by Fred is absolutely amazing!
Ooohhhhh Ian! I want to know your 100 fav b sides amigo!!! Much respect you are el hombre!
Me too :)
I’m literally going back and forth listening and saving to my youtube music playlist....😃
Makes me want to break out my crates and throw down some records I have from that era. Great job Ian 👏👏👏
Gotta love Ian Pooley.
Wow I have that first track on vinyl too! Never heard anyone else play it
yup that Vanessa Evelyn - Sister Sister track was one of my favorites, i used to play that constantly. Pure gold!
Legend Guy, TNI early 90ties, Force Inc.... Great B Side Selection Ian!
Nicholas: Silvering is the soundtrack of my childhood! Thank you for that! ❤️🥳
The last derrick may track is one of my favourites
My favorite "B-side" is AA2 of Calypso EP - Gimme Sound (Original). More than 20 years old, but still awesome tune. Ian is great!
That is a great track!!
in-love with that first track
Ian you’ve been an inspiration. Thanks man
Great video, love this channel now, im hooked.... 🔥💯👍💪🙏🎵🎶🌎
Nice selection!
I just love Ian's mix from Radio FG like god damn
awesome Nicholas , true underrated gem
Salsa Life on that Derek May record is the best B side - quite noisy, but just excellent
One of my top 5 would be Ian Pooley - Don't You Be Afraid from one of his earliest EPs on Force Inc. The whole EP holds up really well but I especially love that track.
Since I first danced to Vanessa Evelyn*s Sister Sister (Manny & Konrad's Dub)`many many many years ago in Boston, I am in love with this piece of musical art! One of the best on that label forever in my heart and soul... Thank you Ian for the choice.
Ohhh that first tune
Anything involving Ian Pooley is proper!
Ian Pooley - Missing You
my First record from him! So in love
Thanks Ian , and thanks for organic ! What a track 👍🏼
House music was also my first love in electronic music. My hardcore friends when I first lived in Germany did not like that I loved to dance to house music. We would go to a total hardcore techno club first then at like 6am we'd go to a house club called Kuhlhaus in Saarbrucken. I had the most amazing times at this tiny club. Amazing sounds and amazing people. I loved those people so hard.
This is gold, thanks a lot to Ian and you Telekom guys.
Really enjoyed this one. Ian Pooley is certainly hell of a producer himself. Surprised to see some Techno tunes here.
Super nice selection
nice selection boss :) that X-RAY track killed it for me
nice work ♥
I just ordered a mint condition The Beginning just for that Kool Kat Art Work , I’m sure I have multiple copies of that record already but the sleeve is classic :)
amazing!
The first song. Nicholas.. what a tune
That Transmat track! Still sounds so fresh.
1:30 - fuck, this is gold! Sounds so wholesome track.
Yeah, some belters in there... Great choices...
Yeah man ! Poole is real deal super feel
very Good Ian !!!! more coz it remind me 90's
Noel Nanton "Your Love" Ian pooley mix is my favourite Ian pooley track.
Fly shuffle is my favourite 🕊❤💃🕪
I love the tune Space Cube - The Future, 1993
Interestingly enough, Drama was co-produced by Carl Craig and Carl was Derrick's protégé.
Ian poole - 900 degrees ( Tom Middleton cosmo deep dub mix), best track ever. 💖
Respect this great musicman. Absolutely great.
NIBC - Love Lesson (Ian Pooley Remix) - pure class
einfach ein geiler Typ.... Schon immer gewesen!! LEGENDÄR
Damn that Derrick May is funky!!!Drum pattern reminds me of that Inner City let it Reign remix ...good stuff!
@Anders Wendel oh..ok..thanks that you "Cleared" that up!
seems like a lovely fella , great tunes , great artist
This is a goooooood one. That second track is 🥰
Love his picture there
Silvering is such an incredible piece of music, as mostly everything Nicholas put out on 20000st back then
You are so right my friend !!
Quality stuff 👍
Always liked him Since the 90s.
Top 5 producer and dj for me
Man, back in the 90's and very early 2000's, you knew you were in for something very special every time you went out to a night. You'd often get a bit of everything from a good DJ, rather than the ultra focused, almost sounds like one long tune sets that have been so common the past fifteen years or so. But then you'd get eight hour long slots for a DJ quite commonly back then.
"Silvering" is der absolute Hammer .. ohne den Track hätte ich die Night Life Compi damals gar nicht gekauft.. isso.
Drama will always be one of my favs.
Good man DRAMA. IT NEVER FAILS
Nice tunes!
One of the best in the series
That Fred Everything track is real nice
