SLAVE WAS AWESOME A SEVERELY UNDERATED DESPITE IT GOING TO #1 ! And Sebastians solo career was damn good ! And Bach newest album 2024 Child Within A Man is a Awesome Release for Bach being nearly 60 years old ! As for Slave To the Grind Really Every Single Track is Great ! In fact look how many singles was released & 3 GREAT BALLADS On a HEAVY Metal Album AMAZING ! Wasted Time, In A Darkened Room , Quicksand Jesus ! And Great Heavy Song Monkey Business ! Makes me want to break stuff ! Love this Great Album ! Best Album of 1991 By Far !
I absolutely agree with everything you say after the 50 minute mark. I've been saying the same thing for 28 years. Sebastian was the only one smart and interested in Skid Row. More than Doc even. He pursued the interest of the whole group, but these selfish ones never understood it. Except Rob, who left after they fired Sebastian. Their last album was a big compromise for Sebastian, in every way, but Rachel, David and Scotty never got it. High self-esteem, ego and selfishness have never been good counselors. They ended up opening for KISS because the whole world mocked and resented them. But it's not Skid Row without Sebastian. And they never will be again. Too bad. They were a great band, and Sebastian Bach continues to be a great singer.
I was waiting for this. I think every hard rock enthusiast should own this album. I particularly like the the title track and Monkey business quicksand jesus and in a darkened rooom.
@@HARDROCKreverie I bought it when it came out. It is one of the few CDs I put an order in for. It was a big big disappointment. Only one good song on it. Maybe 2.
Hey Dave I’ve always loved the heavier direction this album took. Debut while being a great album just seemed more of heavier “hair band” feel where Slave just was like a kick in the teeth. From the time Sebastian screams at the beginning of Monkey Business and then the title track. Then in 91 how cool was it to hear Sebastian yell GET THE FUCK OUT!!!! 😁. Never really examined the lyrics much. Probably too wasted most of the time back then to care. 🤪I also never really got much into speed or thrash metal. Metallica was about as heavy/thrash type I liked and that didn’t happen til 88 with And Justice. The heavy sound on Slave was just a perfect blend of heavier hard rock/metal while even with the 3 ballads that just kicked ass. So Dave did you like the 22 album The Gang’s All Here with Erik Gronwall? I think it is a killer album and ya he sounds like a reincarnation of Sebastian but it’s the best since Slave IMO. Never cared for any of the other singers til Erik. Especially with the turmoil between Rachel and Snake with Sebastian I think Erik is a great replacement. Also we got Sebastian releasing an album in May. So the best of both bands 🤘🏻
Hey Dave, I was inspired to re listen to Skid Rows Subhuman Race album after watching this video. I haven't listened to it since I bought it when it came out. P U I see why I haven't listened to it since then. STG is their best album in my opinion. Totally agree they should have included the censored CD version song. Keep up the good work, I enjoy going down memory lane with your breakdowns.
I 100 percent agree with you on Slave. I liked a few of the songs like Monkey Business, Quicksand Jesus but my favorite was Wasted Time. I don't listen to Slave much and I can't listen to it from start to finish like I can with the first album. I can't stand Creepshow or Living on a chain. None of the songs I relate to. I think Sebastian had some writing credits and I don't think he's the best song writer. Because his solo albums just aren't that great.
By the way: I bought the new Judas Priest Album on Vinyl. They put 11 Songs on two discs for whatever reason. The first Side had 2 Songs. Why? I don't know.
See, that's why I'm always bitching about the newer vinyl releases. That's absolute horse shit. It's ridiculous. And I won't give them my money for that crap.
I saw Sebastian Bach one time on an Festival as an solo act. And to be honest, I just watched some songs. I love those Songs and like him as an singer. But after a couple of songs he stopped the show to scream at somebody for some bullshit. And to be honest, it felt to me that there was no reason for this and he made this just to look like an pretty hardcore kind of guy. I said to my self "well fuck this piece of shit" and walked away to get me some beer.
I like this album, just not as much as the debut, after the first 2 songs I get lost, but I do like Get The F Out & Creepshow, I do not like in a darkened room, the 2nd side is much better imo, and I'm not sure I ever really heard beggers day, i got the Get the F out version, thanks, bro... and I agree 100% with the Kiss tour. Since the break up I have followed Sebastian but I haven't heard anything Skid Row has done since subhuman race. No Sebastian = No Skid Row, imo...Current Skid Row can't keep a singer, maybe it's not all Sebastian's fault?
Interesting. Good point about them not keeping a singer, too! I wish they'd just grow the hell up and get over their crap. I really want this band back!
@@HARDROCKreverieIt's not really needed Sebastian don't need them ! He did great on this current 2024 Album at like I said nearly 60 years old ! skid low needs Bach , Bach DOES NOT NEED Them ! They would just drag him down ! If your wanting a reunion, please go check out Bach's 2024 Album I think it's 1989-1991 & 2024 !

Haven't heard the newest album yet. I just don't want to hear guys who get hired to sound like other guys. *Shrug*

I don't blame you for that. Very similar to Axl Rose always pulling some stupid stuff at GNR shows back in the day.
