Damn, I hope he is in a better place right now. This track is fitting perfectly with the context. The first time I saw this video, I found it strange MF is not appeared on it, maybe Rejjie knew about the MF Doom health situation. Happy new year & RIP Doom
The fact the last released MF DOOM verse (To my understanding) ends with "Now we stuck like plaster, yo, I has to go" just hits much harder to me. RIP THE 🐐
I think DOOM is the shaman of hip-hop. He probably foresaw his return to Source/God. I imagine he formed an intimate bond/acceptance with death, in order to reemerge after his brother's early death. He reminds us that death is not the end, and of the grace/transformation that occurs when we accept death/sin/suffering as an intrinsic part of being alive; style, soul power, grace, joy and transcendence grow on top of this deep acceptance..
DOOM has been doing it so long with so many verses different rhyme schemes and flows . He never disappoints. He’s one of the best rappers we’ll ever see
half agree half not. DOOM is an unparalleled rhyming MC with truly no equal, but they don't call it the DOOM flow for nothing. It's his Achilles heel imho, he has one solid (and definitely unique, at least) flow that he sticks to for most of his music. Thank God that flow has stayed fresh as fuck for twenty years else I'd have something ACTUALLY bad to say about the man
@@acemcbeanpiff I agree somewhat. I think what keeps him fresh is his unexpected rhymes. He said in an interview that what keeps him fresh is that you probably can't guess what the next bar is gonna be. He rhymes the weirdest shit with each other. I think flow is only part of the equation imo. You're not wrong, just wanted to add on.

@@MrO_thevoice Wish I haven't. I hear more death references in his songs when I hear them now. Also on "masking" where he says his reign his over along with his presence. And it's one of the later ones he had. But maybe he's just pranking us all, would be cool to see him come back from the dead.

I think the meaning of the song is that the times of happiness don’t last forever, and the hammer is a metaphor for the bliss, but one day it’s going to come back down, through the song he keeps reminiscing about the good times, like “sticky like the rain in the summer” pointing to the times he remembers, the good times, that’s just one of the many examples
