Thanks for the tips. I have the same Yorkville speakers. Once I restored my Yorkville speakers like this. I bought some Tuki Covers for my Yorkville speakers to keep them looking like new
If I may make a suggestion...quart of Granotone textured coating for speaker cabinets...$40. Roll it on & good as new from the factory. Easy peezy lemon squeezy. Literally giving it a fresh coat vs trying to bring lustre back to old coating.
Man! Thank you for making this! I just got into more mobile djing and my equipment is getting worn now and I had no idea what to do and found a lot of bad advice. This is much appreciated!
i took off the grills off my JBL VRX 932s after 10 yrs they got rusted very bad.. I have a pair of ls1208. yorkville does a much better coating on grills than JBL. great tips I like a satin mate finish... I used a brush and soap.. also I used a local powred coat local shop to restore the grills... I belive is better than that spray can.. great tips...
My friend has been a Yorkville dealer since 1993 and I’ve seen used nearly every Yorkville sub since the mid 90’s on up to now, snd this 21” sub is own of the best subs out if you can get your hands on em
wow thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and for all the little tips. i freaking hate scuff marks on my subs this was super helpful. i even contacted Yorkville for a recommended touch up paint for the paint and they didn't have any to offer.
For anyone wanting to re-paint their box. I highly recommend DURA TEX. It comes in black or white. One gallon goes a long way. Depending on your project you can use a 2" or 4" roller. Really good product. Restores your speakers to looking brand new.
10:24, for that white lint… just take packing tape and reverse tape it around your full hand. Now take your sticky tape hand and start dabbing those lint spots. The lint should come up.
You are right. That speaker came out clean but here is the fact. If you ever try to paint that box in the future with dura tex or the original finish you are in big trouble. Looks shiny now but paint will never stick to that finish now. The oil from that polish is now observed into that finish.
I think you’d be correct if I were to try to paint it now. But as time goes on and the shine fades with proper cleaning with mineral spirits the paint will stick just fine if I decided to go that route. 👌🏾 thanks for watching and commenting 🙌🏽🙌🏽
It would be more work and way more expensive. If you watch some of my other videos I’ve painted some of my speakers with duratex which is a great product but you are going to have to spend a little more money. But everyone has their preferences. I hope this was a little helpful. Thanks for watching

Forgot to mention the dura tex must be applied with a specific roller made just for that paint. Everything can be found at parts express.
Great job. Thanks for the tips.
