Yes Paul, bubble magus curve 5, and includes a TMC Reef 1000 phosphate reactor. Thanks for your response! No-pox I shall, and introduce a small fragment of button polyp. Just take a day at a time! Keep up with playing with ya guitar! Great video selection, very informative! Cheers.
I don't think you could kill a Kenya "Purple" Tree Coral, (Capnella sp.) if you tried. I had it in one tank that had a Coral Shelf glued to the side, cut it with a Razor Blade as close to the rock as I could. Glued it to a Frag. Plug and moved it to a another tank. I tried to shut down the first Aquarium, but discovered I had Baby Shrimp, which are probably Peppermint Shrimp. Put minimum light on the tank, it's growing off the stump. Fragged that, it's growing again. Also a piece was on the magnetic frag shelf in the new tank, when I moved the frag plug to the sand bed, that's growing.
Me as a newbie to this hobby .. I class myself as a 3 (most likely to kill everything).... but I have a Goni that I've had for about 2 months and is still alive and hasn't had any die off yet... I have red/green scollies, Zoa's, rico's and a green Mandarin that seem all very happy .... Now I'm either very lucky or I'm a wizard .... Not bad from a 3 person ... Soon I will be a 2 when I get more experienced - a year or two later .. I'll be a 1 or I will just burn everything (including the house) down to the ground and just keep a bobbit worm as a pet becasue that's the only thing left I haven't killed.. #here'shoping
Hi Paul, I live in the UK, I would like add that I've watched all your videos, which gave me the inspiration to start a reef tank, I saw your Red Sea docu! So now I have a custom built 60g cube, with sump, has been Running now for ten weeks. Most of my parameters are spot on, except my nitrates reading 10/20ppm. I would like say as a newbie, would starting out as my first coral...zoanthus polyp (button) be ok. I would be interested in how I can lower my Nitrates, and your opinion on the Eheim stream on 400. Thanks simon
i read best way to circulate water is front to back or back to front and not side to side. is there any truth in this? i never see people use that route but in a way i can see it making sense. the water travels a shorter distance in a faster speed. and im sure it creates some kind of ripple effect bouncing the water back. just wondering if anyone out there has tried this.
do you have a video that lists different corals according to their assigned numerical group? I really like reef aquariums but don't have much time to think about my parameters daily. I know I want corals that are 1, some 2s just so I don't have a softy dominant tank. Fortunately I'm a huge fan of zoanthids. I already have a Kenya tree coral (or something similar) and I'm looking at potentially getting a leather coral. I have a gorgonian and I currently don't have any problems with it. I'm looking at getting some sort of Euphyllia, particularly a hammer. I've read they are pretty simple to keep. What is your experience with them? Note: I'm currently in the military so I have to move around every few years. Hopefully I'll be able to sustain my stock through the years.
I think that's wrong of you to lie to people about acroporas. You said #3's won't do well regardless of your system. That is full-on crap. All they need is high light, high flow, and STABLE conditions. If they died regardless of the system they live in, they would have gone extinct thousands/millions of years ago!
Conspiracy Sundays never do I say they won't do well, I just say they don't always do well. I am involved in hundreds of reef tanks and the fact is that some corals are easier to keep than others. This does NOT mean that they can't be kept!
I hate lps corals. I've never had them die on me, but barely see growth, and have to keep my tank perfect. Yet, I have sps corals that don't struggle in the aquarium, which baffles me.
Are you feeding your LPS? It sounds like your water level is really clean, hence why the SPS is going great and growing. LPS like slightly 'dirty' water in order for them to grow/flourish... If your keeping nutrient levels low for your SPS, you need to supplement your LPS in order to keep them happy :)
Thanks for the tip. I do feed my corals from time to time but you're probably right that they do not have sufficient nutrients. Will take that into account as I upgrade to a larger tank and am in the process of selecting additional corals.
baseballhunter42 No problems :) It's hard to find that balance in a mixed reef, trying to keep LPS corals happy while not polluting the water column with too much nutrients so your SPS don't suffer.... Even feeding them once a week may be enough to get better colors and growth
You talk about average a lot in this video. You sold me a tank that you told me was quality for marine. Nothing further from the truth. I have spent so much money trying to make that tank work. It is totally a non marine tank. Will never trust these guys again.

Nice selection of corals. Been reefing for 15 years + and cannot keep elegance corals. Other lps do great. Last couple were AUSTRALIA. NO LUCK.

Simon Cushing Thanks! Zoanthus are perfect! Do you have a skimmer? Get some Red Sea NOPOX

I prefer back to front, I hate left to right as it often stops my corals opening up so much

+vikingblues13 it is all listed on our website
Where can I find this list? I remember a few years ago your site had some sort of ebook guide, but I don’t see it on the current site.

If I get some I will
are you going tonenquire about them?
I am not sure who imports them, I really like marine pure
i will deffinatly be buying a block very soon how llong will it last in a 6x2x2 cichlid tank before needing a clean
Marine Pure does not need to be replaced

You are welcome to come in and see me, I am sure I will be able to sort it out.
Majestic AquariumsTV Have you came in to see me about this?
It was probably your own fault. Most tanks can support both fresh and salt
What is a non marine tank...?
You can have saltwater in any aquarium but you must understand its limitations.
