Great video mate, Here in South Africa, bony fish make good fish cakes, cook the fillets(smoke or steam it) then remove most of the big bones. Chase it through the mincer, add some seasoning, diced onions, flower, am egg or two. And make some fish cakes.. Serve with some tartare souce.. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

@@lukefalzon if you go to kuranda and like freshwater fishing go to oakforrest road near MCcorry st most locals fish off the bridge but i personally fish upstream from the bridge, you can drive down mccorry st about 300m down you will see the first house on the left an then turn right into a clearing opposite the house, go over the train track an a small hike down a hill and your at a grunter breeding hole most locals don't even know about. You will catch grunter, sleepy cod, eeltail catfish and possibly a jungle perch but their mostly tagged.
The recent rain has stirred up alot of grunters I took home 8 grunters all above 48cm.

Don't kill fish if you don't even know what it is. For all you know it could have been a protected species, poisonous, not legal size or shit eating/ full of bones like you found out. Interesting seeing someone fillet a tarpon none the less, cant say I've seen that before lol
