Having 73 of your 82 man army wounded is just crazy. Easily one of the biggest nail biter battles of yours I've seen and a ton of fun to watch you pull a victory out of the jaws of defeat. Lol. I love the tactics and am loving how much I'm learning watching your videos. What I've already learned from you makes Bannerlord feel like an entirely different game.
I love hearin' this brother. It WAS a great battle and I think I'll make a separate episode featuring it. It was super close and no question the decisions we made and action we took saved the day.
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions Absolutely. And to do it without a God level general to really tip the scales in your favor shows how well your tactics actually hold up. As soon as you went to the beach and the infantry started pouring past your square I thought "Welp, that's it. No way your coming back from that." But your level headedness won the day again when you got your cav in there and were able to plug the hole and turn things around. Great job man.
@@VPLEO They seemed to waiver though too, maybe a little bit of bad AI. Had they simply chased every single archer down in shield wall, it's lost, but then again, we KNOW the AI is not perfect, yet I still lose battles sometimes... thanks for the kind words and encouragement! Cheers!
I just started playing bannerlord last week, and my brother had me install his mods etc. I haven't enjoyed a game like this in a long time lol, then I found your channel and I can't get enough of your vids.
You're a very good entertainer, not only because you're clearly knowledgeable about bannerlord, but in general you seem to be very chatty yet on point, very good stuff, and tho I came her for bannerlord, I can say that I'd watch you and listen to you play any other game that involves tactics Good stuff bro, keep on goin
Thank you for the generous words! I'm still shaping my online persona and trying to decide if this is something I'll do as a hobby job when I retire. I have been giving training classes for years at work and my profession as a firefighter and I think that has helped me keep a good tenor during these episodes. Not sure what games I'll play in the future but I'm sure they'll be something involving history and tactics. Cheers!
Every time I see a video of yours come out I instinctively click on it and hit like since I haven't found one of yours yet that disappointed. Keep up the great work, I'm loving your banner lord content!
I think as long as you are having fun and enjoying what you are doing. Role play, play tactically, play like a sweat. Whatever you want. It’s just fun to see some really tense battles and someone enjoying what they are doing. You said it yourself. You cant please everyone.
this has got to be one of the most entertaining ones I’ve seen so far. Love all your vids but this one I found myself laughing a ton and really really invested for your victory here
Great! I'm going to actually make a shortened version of this as my analytics suggest most people are 'tuning out' after 20-30 minutes and thus missing that beauty of a final battle!
That was from a 'raw battle', just campaign battles where I play them out either with no music and commentary or no music AND no commentary. Usually that allows me to focus a bit more on the inner-Samarai and fight better.
I appreciate your application of tactics with minimal mods. I play on console and can't even reshape formations, but it's a lot of fun to recreate what I can.
That beach/cliff map for the final battle is probably my favorite in the game. I had a very similar battle on it recently, where I was a merc for the Asarai and I attacked a Vlandian Army that was sieging down a castle. The garrison sallied out, and charged like morons into teeth of Banner Knights and Sharpshooters and I just said fuck it and set up on the beach while they killed themselves. I had just watched one of your siege defense vids, and took inspiration from that. Square of infantry in the choke and a line of shield wall cav behind that. Left just enough of a gap that a few units would trickle through to get eaten alive by the two divisions of archers set up in the back. They just threw themselves into the grinder, until eventually my cav and infantry were gone, but the choke point was so full of riderless horses that they could only get a few units through at a time and I just sat there and watched a green line until they routed.
At least you were able to finish the battle at the end! I had a major early campaign victory in a castle siege against Vlandia where I was down to my last handful of troops. Had to abandon it right at the end because I didn't have enough left over to storm the keep lol
I honestly love your genuine chuckles at your own jokes while playing the game you love! 😂 that’s what this sh*t is about, having fun! Peace to you good sir, thank you for the awesome content you keep putting out. (:
Glad you enjoy it, you can TELL I did haha. Was just so hilarious that like 9 Vlandian nobles were captured by our raggedy 90 guys. On top of that, we had like 12 guys survive, so 12 guys dragging hundreds of prisoners is a VERY funny picture...
That shoreline defence is something I recently incorporated in a battle where I was hopelessly outnumbered by Kuzaits. The map was a bit different, with the beach having multiple access points, making the set-up a bit trickier, but the tactic still worked like a charm. Seeing those horse archers get popped with a constant green stream of messages was so exhilarating! One issue that popped up was that they'd just camp outside, so I had to sac some cavalry to bait them into the kill zone little by little. I'd appreciate if you had any tips for that, if not, it's fine, I'll also try to figure something out. This was a nice departure from your usual single battle videos, and gave some real insight into merc life in Bannerlords. You get some good skirmishes where you're evenly matched with a couple other lords and then you join in on massive battles with hundreds of enemies and need to use your few handful to turn the tides, or end up succumbing to them. Another great video, love your work!
@@angrygoldfish9607 Also I couldn't find your earlier message but I wanted to say, you're right about the death-match campaign, it's more like a death-wish campaign. You're perception is highly in tuned, there's no hope for victory, but at least hope for a dramatic final stand and that's worth playing for... Cheers!
It's good story telling. I can respect that. Have you thought at all about what the terms of completion for your new campaign will be? What will be the overall goal? I do wish you and I had a different, less public means of communication. I felt badly about perhaps giving the game away in my aforementioned message.
@@angrygoldfish9607 That will be a mix of what people want to see and what I'm willing to do. I talk about it a bit in episodes 3-6 of this practice run, basically getting pre-feedback. Came here for the display of tactics (and really looking forward to seeing some Khuzait getting dunked on), but that moment of beheading a charging cav unit with a jumping attack with a one-handed sword was something else. That guy's pretending to be an archer but he might be Achilles in disguise.
