I have been using this antenna for more than 4 years, I have it installed in a 22-story building, 80 meters high (263 feet) in the City of Buenos Aires! The quality of construction is impressive, it has no problems with the storms that are recorded, withstands strong winds.
The performance is far superior to the A99 and the Sirio Gain master. Low noise level stands out.
If I had to buy an antenna again, I would buy the Colossal again.

@sergiodelta - It's sad you despoiled your comment by mentioning the GainMaster as an implied inferior performer. Regardless of the shine, weld quality, heft or hefty price, the center-fed balanced design of the GainMaster will always outperform a bottom-fed 5/8, up to whatever piwer level they can both handle.
The 8kw GainMaster in my 135' ponderosa pine provides up to 2 S-units increase from the I-10K previously mounted there, and there's not a sneeze of a difference in performance between a modified I-10K (corrected for factory design errors) and the Zero5/Shockwave.
And yes, I have had them all, including several 1970s Hy-Gain Penetrators, Avanti Sigma IIs, Wilson Alpha V5/8s, Taylor, Hustler, Newtronics, and a Douglas Stationmaster, the latter costing what several Colossals adds up to, and was the only one to rival the GainMaster.
But they work fairly well so enjoy your 5/8.

I had those folks to build a colossus 10K antenna for me. A 30 second master blaster storm came through an bent the mast pole over but didn't hurt my antenna whatsoever so I took it apart an put it in the basement. I'm 70 yrs old and can't remount it so I managed to put my I max back up. I run a 10 pill, an two 4 pills on an off. I don't talk anymore much so my IMAX will do for now. It's a great antenna.

I talk to a guy 70 miles away every night on my way to work in my mobile. He runs a 16 watt radio with one of these antennas, and he booms. Amazing!!!

I was illegal here for years before they gave us CB! I was using American AM CBs. Now we had FM on channels no one wanted, but now we have 40 of our own and 40 American, AM/FM/SSB so we are better off :-P You won it, I have only ever won one thing in my life, it was a bottle of Sherry when I was six! My parents didn't keep it till I was old enough to enjoy it :-(( life sucks sometimes lol.

@@joerowland7350 I just put one up then take it down, but it is on the ground which is far from idea. However, I worked Costa Rica from the UK on SSB 12 watts, can't be bad. Conditions were not even good, just a few Italians on low in the box, a few French, Spanish, Germans, but low low signals. I heard these people talking way back in the box coming in and out of the noise, so I just waited. I thought it was Spanish stations just talking together.
I have not worked many Spanish stations, so i just waited and listened while I was doing something else.
A few times they came out of the noise and I thought I would try for them, but they would drop into the noise, so I just listened, even thought I hadn't a clue what they were talking about.
Then one of the stations came well out of the noise and bid there for all of his over, so I waited to see how the other station was.
It was strong enough to hear and make out every word, so when the strongest station finished talking I broke in and asked them where they were.
The strongest station snapped the name of some town that I had never heard of.
I went back and told him I was in Scotland.
There was a slight pause, then he said "I do not believe Scotland"
I said "I am in Scotland, where all the oil is, Aberdeen"
He must have thought I was winding him up, anyway I told him where I was closest to and that he could look it up on an Atlas.
Then he told me he was on a farm/plantation and that his foreman was out in the field, could I hear him, well yes I could but he was struggling to hear me or his English was not that good, but he did attempt to talk to me, but he said he was struggling a bit, then he spoke to his boss.
I assume in Spanish, don't know what they speak over there, but the boss had good English.
Talked to them for a for close to 10 minutes, then their signal just took a nose dive when he was mid sentence and that was him gone.
I didn't find where he said he was closest to, but then I don't have that good a map, though I could use Google, but as I have forgotten and the place name will look nothing like it is said anyway I might not find it, even if it is marked.
I must have a look around there later.
I had an Antenna, fibreglass with a wire wound round it and loads of coils placed up it. It was not mine, but it was for to big for the person that gave me it. It slid into itself and you put a threaded bolt in to make sure of electrical connection at the sections, there was a copper tag inside with a nut and the bolt went through a coated copper ring that went round the antenna for a bit of strength. It was not thin copper, quite strong.
Anyway, this antenna was a co-linier design, light green and solid fibreglass, so it was not the lightest antenna.
It was huge, it was an antenna, on top of an antenna on top of an antenna, I think the bottom before the first coil was a 5/8 wave, the others were half wave and it had a bit on top that didn't make sense, maybe a loaded 1/4 wave, I don't know as I didn't have the instructions.
I put it 30ft up on a chimney and it towered above it, in fact it hurt your neck looking up at it.
All was well and I was really getting out, the nearest city 15 miles away and down at sea level (can't even see it from the chimney) I could get people using a DV27 on a biscuit tin with it.
The only problem with it was it had to much gain for during the day when everyone and the police cat was on.
At night when most had gone to bed it was great, could hear for miles and miles, the top of the antenna, well, who knows what it can see it was so high up.
The death of the antenna came one very windy night, I thought the chimney was going to come through the roof at any minute, then sometime during the night there was a loud crash and then silence!
I thought it had broken and fell to earth with a crash.
Next day I got up and had a look early on before I went to work, I went into the garden and sure enough only about a third or less of the antenna could be seen.
There was no sign of it in the garden or the front of the house!
I went round and into the square where there was a garage and cars stored under glass. I was hoping it hadn't come down a speared the glass as there was a few very expensive cars there.
What I found was my neighbour looking up into the sky, so I looked up to where he was looking. There was the antenna, bent right over at right angles, still looking as if it was in one piece, It went across the glass roof, across the neighbours roof and into some trees behind that!
It had got caught up in the branches and was well hooked up. Fir trees mostly.
There was crunching noises and splintering noises coming from the trees, a few minutes later the antenna started to free itself, bits of branches started to be thrown into the air, leaves, cones, bits of bark. The antenna was getting a bigger bend on it as it freed itself, then there was a lot of splintering and cracking and the antenna broke free from it captive trees.
Small branches were thrown skyward along with a lot of twigs, leaves and cones, needles to say we got a shower of them come our way as it passed overhead and headed towards the chimney.
There was an almighty twanging noise as it straightened up and stood there quivering and shaking. I could have sworn I saw the chimney move.
We stood there watching it as it settled down and the neighbour, who was quite calm usually just said in a quiet voice "I think that antenna might be just a little bit on the big side, might be better to get rid of it before it does some real damage, eh".
The next day it was gone as it was the weekend and my mate (who was not good with heights) plus another guy gave me help take it down. In fact one of them took it away with him and used it for a while. What happened to it in the end I have no idea. I lost tough with both of them, one I have found again, but Covid has stopped me going to see him
We were laughing at the antenna when we met, I had almost forgotten about it, but he only had to say "Green antenna£ and I knew what he was going to come away with.
Even the neighbour laughed when it got back up to the chimney without doing any serious damage.
I took he little statement as a warning, but I didn't need it after being kept up for most of the night with noise from it, I was glad when the crash was heard and it went quiet. I did wonder and there was this whooing noise every time the wind blew, but the antenna was stuck in the trees and all it could do was vibrate as the wind passed across it.
Never again will I ever put anything that big up again, unless it is on a tower.
But I will never get permission for one of them where i am now!
The things you do for a hobby!

@jmanranger7271 - why do you say the hose clamps are cheap? There are plenty of cheap hose clamps that you can find for a buck or so at Ace hardware and as soon as you start to get them as tight as you'd like the strip out end up in the trash waste of money, but if you use the hose clamps designed for hydraulic hoses you can literally crush the aluminum by over tightening - now ask me how I know 😖
