Also Killer guitar review!
A killer review for a killer guitar.
Cheers for doing this video man! Gonna buy this guitar now!
Thanks for watching and the feedback. Follow my channel bc I've got a bunch of new videos coming. 🤘
Did you try to down tune to B or C?
I know that Demmelion V usualy was with B tuning. Want to buy this axe, if is capable to go with B or C tuning.
Thanks for sharing feedback.
I tune it to various tunings, but I've taken it all the way down to drop b and it plays awesome. I did my Hatebreed videos with it and those are in c standard. It's perfect for down tuning, much better suited for that than higher tunings. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Hi, thank you for posting this, I am actually on the verge of buying one. Yet, I do not know whether this one or floyd rose one. I love floyd rose but it may be too conplicated for me to set up, never had fl. rose.
Yet, the bl white one comes with plastic nut which is very, very disappointing for almost a 900 euros !!!!!
Is that plastic nut a quality one, it is the only concern I have about it. Were it of bone, I would definetelly had no doubt about this one!
Thanks !
Thanks for watching. I think it's a great guitar and is one of my main guitars. As for the comments about the nut, I doubt anyone ever really notices any difference in tone due to the nut. I've had this guitar for a few years now and I've had zero issues with the nut. Don't let some small insignificant concerns about something like that stop you from buying a guitar. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with whichever one you buy.
@@MrCbrogers Thank you ! I will do that!
Hey dude, what case fits the demolition fury. I have the white one. Thank you
@@craigjrose2227 skb makes a case that fits explorer shaped guitars. That's the only case that I know of on the market. It's what I bought for mine and it fit perfectly.
Do you feel that the upper frets can be reached comfortably? The horn on the bottom bangs up against my hand and makes it awkward to get to the upper register.
Sorry I never answered your question, I never got a notification. So the upper frets are fairly easy to reach. Its got a very nice cut away that allows for easier access and I think its one of the selling points on this guitar. Its very easy to play on.
searching for an explorer alternative and came across this guitar. great review! how is the string spacing on it? is it narrow or wider?
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback on the review. The string spacing is pretty standard width, but its comfortable and easy to glide across the fretboard. My hands are not super large so for me it's relatively easy to play on it. Hope that helps.
@@MrCbrogers ty!
@@MiguelMakesMusic you're welcome. Do me a solid and sub to my channel. More guitar review videos coming soon.
Great review 👍 the red version is unreal... I want it!
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching.
Did u have to raise ur action at the bridge when u got its? This is my 1st Jackson and my 1st guitar with emg pickups. I'm use to my American strat but yeah just got mine today but there is a buzz on the fat E string. I can play pretty good but I'm no luthier really I suck at that shit so any pointers will help.
I always focused on playing actually I had a roadie dude set all my shit up so it kinda handicapped me on fixing shit now I aint got one lol. Only other thing is the strings keep going out of tune but thats expected with new strings.
Since it has the adjustable saddle I tend to kinda know where I like the saddle height to be, and I can eye it and adjust it to the preferred height. I have a bit of fret buzz too but I actually prefer to have some buzz, i just like the way it plays and sounds with just a little buzz. It's one of those things you just play with adjusting until you find the perfect height.
Sorry I never responded to your comment. UA-cam has not been notifying me that there were comments on my videos and I just saw these comments this morning. Thanks for watching. Hope you get your guitar figured out. It's a badass axe.
What kinda case was it and how much the case cost and would a gig bag work?
I had to get a case thru SKB bc Jackson does not make a case for this guitar as of yet. They have a case for the Warrior shape but it won't fit. I would not recommend getting a gig bag, tr his dhape needs a hardshell case to protect it and since it's such a big body I doubt a gig bag would even fit it. I wanna say the SKB case was about 160 dollars, give or take.
Hey is this good quality? Because I’ve heard Indonesian made guitars are bad
No, it's top notch quality. One of the best guitars I've ever owned.
Why is it impossible to play up on the 23-24 fret ?
It's not impossible. I never said that. It's actually got a very deep cut where the neck meets the body giving a bit more access to the higher register frets. It's a little bit more work for me but I'm sure some ppl have an easy time reaching those high frets, but its definitely not impossible.
Are those DiMarzio clip lock straps durable?
Extremely durable. Every single guitar that I play regularly has these straps on them. Quality all day long. They don't break, or wear out. I wouldn't use them if I didn't believe in them, they're that good.
I want one!!!
Go get ya one. Its become my go-to guitar when doing my newer guitar covers. Check those out to hear that guitar. Also, don't forget to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already. Appreciate the comment 🤘
For this guitar, is it neck heavy? Or is it balanced?
It is a pretty neck heavy guitar, even though it's a neck thru design. But, I found that a large reason for me thinking it is very neck heavy is that I use the Dimarzio clip lock straps and they are a very smooth mesh fabric that let's the guitar slip down. So if you use a strap made out of something like a leather or a fabric that grips your shirt you should be okay with the weight balance. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it!
Do you still own this guitar? Is the neck fast?
Of course. It's my main guitar. I use it on all my recordings for rhythm tracks. I love this guitar. The neck is fast but not super fast, it has a great feel. The fretboard is smooth and fingers just fly over it. I have a bunch of videos posted of me using this guitar. Check em out on my channel.
@@MrCbrogers Thank you very much for the insight! I watched your covers and you are sick. Just subscribed!
@@fernandogalvez9805 no problem. I appreciate the feedback and the sub. I've got a new video dropping in the next few weeks be on the lookout for that. It's gonna be a banger. Super heavy.
I’m looking forward to buying this guitar but the version with the Floyd rose bridge. Awesome demo!
Thank you so much. I actually have the one with the floyd also, but its not mine. I'm fixing it for a friend but it's a sick guitar as well. Sub to my channel bc ive got some more guitar reviews and demo videos coming soon. Thanks for the feedback.
I love the Floyd Rose Bridge but I don't like the colour, wish you could get that in the white also. I'd be all over it! 🤘
@@billghli Same here. The fade look kills it for me but I wish it came in all white or all red.
@@MrCbrogers I subbed awhile ago. Great channel!
@@johnsguitarmusicanddemos awesome, thank you so much. I've tried the Floyd version as well. I played it in a video recently for a song called Trenches by the haunted. Check that out and you can see the guitar in action. It plays killer.
OMG OMG OMG I NEED ONE!
Get one.
@@MrCbrogers I wish they were still made in Japan tho :(
i feel like quality control really took a turn for the worst when jackson moved over to Mexico and Indonesia. My DKA8 Pro, had some glaring issues for a 1K+ Guitar. Don't get me wrong, both Indonesia and mexico can make a fine guitar, but it is similar to how Korean guitars in the late 90's to early 2000's were spotty in QC.
@@TheLotusEater725 well, ill tell you this much I own quite a few jackson guitars of different quality levels and this is one of the best if not the best playing guitar I own. And I own a lot of guitars. I definitely think the quality of this guitar with a couple other jacksons that I own are top notch. I love em. Especially the demmel signature series. I have zero complaints about these guitars. Super happy with em.
@@TheLotusEater725 Mexico does an amazing job. Imo
can you take the pick guard off??
That I actually don't know. I've never tried to remove mine.
so it needs a 9v for the pickups?
It does but it should come with a battery, mine did anyways. The emg pickups are active so it requires a power source, the 9v battery.
@@MrCbrogers hey man thanks for the Fast reply, im thinking about this one because i allways dreamed of having a jackson , i wanted a USA made but the guys from Indonesia are doing a Brutal job.
@@zarnero well you won't be disappointed. It's a killer guitar and my go to for recording rhythm tracks. It's got the meanest tone and such an easy playing neck.
@@MrCbrogers ty very much kind sir! i will let you know when i have it !
@@zarnero sounds good
How’s the neck dive?
Neck dive?
@@MrCbrogers I think he means by if the guitar is imbalanced and the neck is diving downward causing the guitar to lean more on one side rather than being balanced bet the body and the neck mwahahaha
@@silverfang8201 yea I figured that's what he meant.
@@MrCbrogers oh wow lol
Well, I have a question. How high is the action? You covering Silvera, the tapping part of the verse, the action seemed quite high. Effortlessly low or quite high?
@@silverfang8201 it has an adjustable saddle so you can set the height to make the action whatever you want it to be. The lower I tune I raise the action so the strings don't go dead on me and start having too much fret buzz. I'm very particular about how I like my action.
It would've been great if you had attached the strap and put the guitar on yourself so we could see what the neckdive was like. Maybe you could tell us? Thanks!
@MiserereMei I use a particular strap that prevents neck dive. So it wouldn't be accurate in showing that. It is neck heavy, so I would imagine there is some natural neck dive.
@@MrCbrogers, hey, thanks for replying 4 years after you made the video 😊Do you still own this guitar? Are you happy with it? What strap is that? I need help with neck-diving guitars 🤷♂
@MiserereMei I always reply to whatever is commented on any of my videos. I do still have it, and it's one of my favorite guitars and main workhorses for recording. It's a great guitar and plays awesome. I'll use cliplock strap but not the mesh one. It's the cotton one. It helps to keep the guitar in place and has less chance of neck dive.
I subscribed dude and I can totally guess what somebody was crying about on your wall I personally would not have taken it down because it doesn't mean anything negative
Yea it was a picture of lemmy from motorhead that a guy from work gave to me. He just printed it out and gave it to me bc lemmy is super special to me. She accused me of copyright infringement and being in possession of stolen property. She claims that she painted the original painting but I know she stole it from an actual photographer who took the original photo. So she's actually the thief bc she's making money off of it. Not me. I just love motorhead like crazy. This video was shot before I picked up my dimebag and lemmy watercolor prints that I have there now.
@@MrCbrogers that is just sad... Not at all what I thought it was. To me that is you paying respect to someone that you admire oh well
@@tankdarla637 yea it was just in honor of lemmy. But thats okay bc the picture is proudly hanging right on my wall in my home studio, right here it should be. So its all good.
@@MrCbrogers right on! It's a shame your viewers can't see it but whatever ... You did the right thing avoid drama
@@tankdarla637 it's all good. One person's opinion or crying isn't going to make me change anything. I just moved it to better space. I like my new prints that are on the wall right now better.
I want one
It's one of my favorite guitars...and I've got quite a few guitars.
@@MrCbrogers I can see why to me it seems like a perfect guitar straight from the factory with no need to mod anything. Pretty much exactly what I have been looking for now all I need is money I will get one
@@tankdarla637 yea there is zero need to upgrade anything on this guitar. Its solid built, minster sized tone due to the emg 81/60 combo pickups and just overall badass design. I use this guitar for all my rhythm tracks when I do my covers. Check out some of my latest videos to see and hear the guitar in action.
Cool Vid I got that Dr Pepper for you !!!
You know I love me some dr pepper.
I better snatch one for myself before they become permanently unavailable. I'll definitely edit this comment when I get it.
These guitars arent going anywhere, this is the new signature model for Phil demmel. It's his old v demmelitions that were discontinued. These should be around for a few years at least.
@@MrCbrogers That's good to hear. What worries me is that I can't seem to find it in stock at any retailer. And when I emailed Jackson about it, they told me they only have it "on order" and they'll only be available in two months.
@@Damage42X if I recall correctly, this guitar was on backorder for a little while before I was able to actually buy it. And I got mine online through Musician's Friend. I just kept the eagle I wanted until it became available and when it was in stock I pulled the trigger and got one. It was definitely worth the wait. I love this guitar and it's one of my favorites.
The emg's ruined this guitar for me. Active pickups are dead.
Not for me. The emgs are huge sounding in my guitar. I love em. I've tried passive versions of the emg 81/85 combo and they suck balls. Too weak and not enough punch or thickness. But, to each his own.
@@MrCbrogers I guess, but it depends what tone you are aiming for. I'm a sucker for 80's lead guitar and EMG's sound too flat not enough dynamics. But then again to each his own. Cheers!
@@albertmarkethinkpr1325 I usually tune no higher than d standard and go as low as drop b. I also think the main thing is how you dial your amp in. I have a peavey 6505 and have a really thick and tight tone. And it's got girth and rumble. I never really got that tone out of any of my other guitars until I started buying the jacksons.
U didnt even play the thing
There's about 20 other videos where I actually do play the guitar. Check the other videos before complaining.
