A big new release from Crosspoint, a label that focuses on world music!
A Babylon grinding tune from Oki Ainu Dub Band entitled "Sakhalin Rock" is a massive classic of the band. Coupled with a new work "Suma Mukar" that is also becoming a big repertoire. This really is some serious material from indigenous Japan which we are proud to present to the world!
We are offering a limited edition of 300 of quality copies pressed on a 7 inch vinyl at 45rpm. Super heavy sound that appeals also to reggae & dub enthusiasts.
Inherit a piece of history to be told!!!

OKI DUBAINU BAND is a project lead by Oki who is a master player of Tonkori, a traditional stringed instrument of Ainu, an indigenous people of Japan. The instrument is known to have originated in Sakhalin now under Russian control. Teaming up with the top notch musicians and engineers, the band's performance on stage is bound to leave your soul shaken by the spirit of our ancestors.

I am a BIG fan of oki-sans work as a ainu myself its great to see modern ainu music (I am a decendant of the chupka-un-kuru kuril ainu, of the repun kamuy clan from kunashir)

Incredible... I read about Oki on CNN....I looked into the Ainu...I play traditional Native flute...I met a Japanese woman who told me about the Aboriginal people and their instruments...Much love and musical oneness to show how we are all related....Chi Miigwetch....

This is so cool. I'm Basque/Irish and Inuit, from Canada, and I've been studying Euskara, Japanese, Ainu, and Inuktitut this year. I'm also a musician myself (guitar, bass, and drums for almost 30 years). This just resonates with my soul - I love it. Thank you for making such amazing and interesting music 😎
