Hope everyone is staying safe during these challenging times, like most people, I find myself working from home and limiting my exposure to public gatherings while washing my hands repeatedly as I navigate throughout the day. I will have some extra time to work on some pending projects which include these 2 road-bikes purchased last year.

Stay Healthy and Thanks for watching👍🚲

Some nice projects to get stuck into, the lug work in the US seem so much better for same models here in the UK. Thanks for the update look forward to them all the best Andy

Thanks for the feedback Andy, I didn't know there was a difference on workmanship details, I know there is a series of Raleigh bikes marketed and branded as Raleigh USA Bicycle Company on the Head Badge. FYI, I also purchased a Raleigh Competition GS with Reynolds 531 frame and some nice components. Hope your are keeping safe and staying healthy mate 🌍 Thanks for stopping by! 👍🚲🔧

Nice bikes ! I think the bars are original to the Japanese built Schwinn, but I could be wrong.

Thanks! I have 2 other 1973 World Voyageurs and they have the same bars seen on the Le Tour, Continental, Super Sport and Sports Tourer, all equipped with Randonneur style handlebar, Somewhere along the way, a previous owner probably wanted to dress up the bike with a Cinelli style crest handle bar. They are not bad but I already found the correct bars for the bike. I'm considering going with the matching Opaque Blue bar tape as well...

Hello. I found your channel while trying to do some research. I found a Schwinn Le Tour in my grandmother's barn. I was hoping you would be able to help me identify the year of it and how I can start to go about restoring it. I would love some feedback on the project. Thank you very much.

Nice! Sounds like you found a true barn find 😏👍🚲🏡Congrats and glad to hear you will be preserving one of these vintage beauties. If you can find the serial number on the rear dropout. They were made in the Panasonic Plant in Japan and were sold as early as 1973 but introduce in the Schwinn catalog in 1974, I will provide the link to my 1974 Le Tour Video so you can get some ideas.
The serial numbers will look something like this 4C02357 built March of 1974
Mine is F4251135 built in June of 1974. Bicycles from Japan made in the 70’s have a production month letter in either the first or second position and a production year number in the other (first or second) position. Examples J677123 = September, 1976, 6J77123 = September, 1976.
Let me know if you can find the SN, you should be able to identify the year. I have several restoration videos you can watch to get more info on products I use and some of the stuff I like doing to bring them back to speed. Thanks for watching

Hey Oscar. Did the OB WV ever get finished? I'm debating moving mine up the list and also wanted OB tape instead of black. Love the shorty fenders!

Hey Rich, the OB WV is still waiting it's turn🙄🚲 I'm still debating the bar tape color, I do have a roll of the OB and got the correct bars, just need to find and replace the black lever, I do have a spare from my other WV but it's a little rough.
