I love Chris Difford's gruff vocal harmonies, just one of the factors that make Squeeze so distinctive. That and his amazing lyrics. This is my favourite Squeeze track.
Trivia fact: It's not a harmony. Chris Difford sings exactly the same note as Glenn just one octave lower. It's their sound. Quite unique and quite brilliant.
Marty my good man, that is not a lip sync job. It sounds nothing like the studio album cut. Squeeze pulls off a clean live show - seen em several times.
Back in the 80s I was totally into the Beatles. But these guys are next. If I had followed squeeze more I would have been completely crushing on them. Excellent songwriters and adorable.
I demand this is played at my funeral wake cremation funeral pyre and or gentle dumping...sunlight on the lino woke me with a shake...some luck...my life story
@@philliesbabe0503 There is a backing track ... that’s obvious. The vocals are live. I’ll brt you a 1000 bucks. I know the percussion instruments never sound like that outside a studio.. look again.
Miss music when I was 20, like this.
🎵🎶🎸'Sunlight on the lino' -
one of my all time favourite classic lines.
Excellent songwriting & an evergreen classic song.
The lyrics are pure genius, and the music is also. Sublime.
I remember this track playing on the record player in the 6th form common room at school 1979/80. Brilliantly underrated song

They are absolutely amazing live
God he was such a cutie ❤
Saw them in Dublin last week, incredible show! They still sound phenomenal!
Saw Squeeze the other night at the corn exchange in Cambridge. They were brilliant! Great talent and lovely guys.
I love the raw quality, brilliant band and singer

Heh. It's obviously lip syncing which isn't the end of the world.
Believe what you want.
That is so chill. So much good Squeeze stuff that has gone unremembered. Well....NO MORE!
This is the best version, with the “plinky, plonky” bits😁
Genius
This is the Album version - my wife has moved to Guernsey - not Jersey (or Boston)
Just love them.

Are you confusing the line "The room was almost spinning"? if you are I hope this helps.
@@storkythepunk Thank you.A weight has been lifted.
Who is on keyboards?
Don Snow. He is also known as Jonn Savannah.
Lip synced......I came here to see a live performance as advertised. Not so.
Marty Ross ...seen them more times than I can count....this is not lip synced. Definitely not like the studio version
@@philliesbabe0503 idk...that fade out at the end certainly doesn't sound live...
What a shame. Guess you'll have to get off your fat arse and pay money for a concert ticket
