I don't care what people say, despite its flaws this film was absolutely incredible. People are just not used to such originality/complexity. They are just used to the same predictable cookie cutter Hollywood studio crap they are served year by year.
Why does every critic reviewing this movie sound like a pretentious prick with ADHD , jumping on the bandwagon shitting on probably the wildest, most thought provoking batshit crazy movie to come out in ages ? Is it perfect ? No, calling a hot mess might be fair, but good sweet Christ in Heaven, what a joy it was to see something this visually stunning, daring, and deeply moving. Yeah, FFC threw everything and the kitchen sink into this, but what a feast ! Those with eyes to see and ears to hear will love this film. Let’s see the critical opinions ten years from now. Think a lot of people will be eating crow…🐦⬛
damn 😭 | this is definitely one of those films that I respect, and appreciate more so than like. Maybe it’s a film I need to rewatch to fully grasp, but I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Watched Megalopolis last night. I liked it and will watch it again. It doesn't deserve the amount of flack it seems to be getting. Everyone is raving about The Substance right now but to me that was just as much of a mess that breaks its own logic constantly and falls apart completely by the goofy ending, and almost all scenes were derivative of better horror films. This is never going to be up there with Godfather etc but it's still worth seeing in the cinema for its originality, and even toward the end when it gets more abstract it keeps the brain working. I do think it will get re-analysed and appreciated more after the mainstream media have finished with it. Coppola knows all of this of course. This is the swansong he wanted to make before he shuffles off and wont give an F what the initial response is or what the box office take is.
A strange picture, without a doubt, but one with so much nuance and life, I cannot help but enjoy it's vast stupidness and its message on corrupt civilizations, and what society has turned into as a result of that control. 21/25
The visuals is really great, cinematography is no doubt amazing. Yet it’s too abstract for me that I can’t handle everything that’s going on at the same time. This movie is overrated for me
I loved it. The reviewer doesn't get the point or the meaning. Obviously couldn't follow the story. Next time do a little research until you get the hang of it. Hey, Apocalypse Now was made 50 years ago and it's still making money every year, year after year. This movie is a masterpiece. But like you said not for everyone.
i just finished watching it and it was the most pretentious garbage ever made. I love Apocalypse Now and godfather 1 and 2, but this was just weird in the bad way. happy u liked it, but i agree with this review
@@spider-manfanboy4653 OK. That's the way you do it. The way we decide what is right. So I'm still going over it in my head. I'm learning more about it. My wife pointed out that Jon Voight probably was representing Trump.
@spider-manfanboy4653 oh, another one, the first movie Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman were in together was Midnight Cowboy. Have you seen them in that movie?
@user-jeffjack I'm going to do the world's lowest tech analysis of the movie at some point in the next week. There's no Trump representation in the movie, the political themes are more timeless than that.
@@lymphomasurvive The trailer didn’t interest me at all. I don’t let anyone think for me. I literally have watched over 150 2024 movies for the year so I do my fair share of supporting.

When older hit directors think the world is ready for their vanity projects
It was ambitious but it falls apart when he spoke about 30 years ago aftet godfather 3 i was intrigued
It looks too weird for me.
Don’t watch it. The movie is garbage, and the director’s a Sex offender
