Absolutely agree with this list. Sabrina should’ve won, it was her season to win, she was so close to a pros level, apolo should’ve gotten fourth or third, he kept improving week after week but the judges kept underscoring him. Melissa and Tony wouldn’t have ever won in my book but the season by the midway point kind of felt like a plot to get Tony his first win, not in a completely manufactured way but this was what they were pushing
Honestly I agree with this list fully except I would switch Kelly and Apolo. I think Apolo was deserving of the third place the most. Shawn and Sabrina were a clear top 2. I think Melissa is one of the most forgettable winners in dwts history. Her and Tony lacked the wow factor.
I honestly loved Kelly and she’s my second favorite contestant ever so there’s probably some bias within my pick even though I do love Apolo as well. But yeah Melissa was a good dancer but I felt like many of their dances in the 2nd half of the season were overscored.
I feel like Melissa winning was more about Tony. He had made some statements about some other pros always getting more natural dancers and him always being stuck with older actresses and housewives so they were definitely pushing the "these 2 have never won" narrative, especially after Sabrina was screwed over yet again.
I’ve never been a fan of Emmitt and don’t think he should have won in his original season. He felt very underwhelming during All Stars and just kept skating by on his schtick of moving his hips a lot. I felt like those in front of him were much more consistent and deserving of going further.
Emmit wasn’t even the best dancer in his own season, Everyone knows Mario Lopez should’ve won, even Cheryl herself admitted they were the better dancers. So if he wasn’t the best in his own season, you can see how he isn’t as good in all stars, he had many missteps

I rewatched season 15 the other week and he wasn’t as great as I remember him being. Plus his attitude felt off and sort of ruined it for me.
