Im also a bass of our male choir.lts very nice this guy singing without any error.Very clean and clear voice. He could be a model of every man singing at the choral group,l salute you Sir.
Im the only bass/tenor in my choir, this helps me a lot due to my choir director not helping me with this song due to the fact that im only 1 person singing the part.
this will help me a lot for bringing my team up to level !!! Thanks guys for making such thing! I hope to find more and more like this ... then we gonna participate at last ...
we are.gonna have a platinum jubilee on October and.gonna do a Chorus qnd.i take bass without not knowing what is bass ? but thanks for this i much learned for now
Good job./ I enjoyed listening. Keep up the good work. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is an excellent worldwide ministry that gives honor and praise to God and Christ Jesus.
Absolutely brilliant. I love listening to the parts! By the way, when Peter sings the last 5 hallelujahs, except the fifth, he is singing does not match the music.
Right, I too just noticed it. The 4 hallelujahs at the end except the very last, he is singing a D note instead of F#. Similarly, there are some not so noticeable word mishaps (sung words not matching the printed text) - for example, "forever, and ever" is sung as "forever, forever".
Was going to keep singing on my channel away till later this year... looks like we're just going to have to go ahead anyway xD Most amazing voice Mr Hollens has, can't wait to hear the finished product!
I suppose you could, but the higher notes 'lift the voices up.' You wouldn't want a piece like this to sound at all dour. After all, it's HALLELUJAH! ;)
Considering I'm a Baritone, I can confirm it. When following him, I don't struggle in the parts where it normally does(In the lowest parts). Although that may be because I'm following him.
Yes. I was thinking exactly that. The bass part in Hallelujah chorus is in the baritone range. He is a tenor. But has some bass practice because he used to both the parts in some of his song videos earlier.
Good singing, but he does say "for" instead of "and" right at around 2:30 and 3:53. I'd also prefer a rolled "r" on "reign" and less "er" at the end of the word "forever" and more of a British pronunciation.
+Christoffer Bank I thought that common knowledge? lol :) So is Lindsey Stirling and Devin Graham. It's been widely-debated that the Shaytards family is as well.
+Sang Yoon Just what Peter is singing and what's on the sheet music. The other vocals in the background come from the other parts (tenor, alto, and soprano).
+Jamie Durisko Peter mixes up some "Forever"s with some "and ever"s - which I know I will likely do too. He also sings D-G-D etc. rather than F#-G-D in the cadences at the end, but its no big deal since it doesn't change the chord. Again, my crimes will be worse.
I could be wrong but this is not the bass part. You can hear the bass section in the original music. I sang bass in our choir and never encountered these high notes. We were an octave lower. But nice job all around.
This is the bass part. More likely, you sang it in a different key. If you were accompanied by a band, it was probably transposed to C Major because it is easier to play for the wind instruments.
No. That’s literally the bass part that was originally written. Basses don’t always have to sing so low. This is a song a of joy so Handle decided to write the bass part a little higher in their range
Thank you! This so helps me. We are of course singing this for the Easter Vigil. Roman Catholic Church!
Setting playback speed to 0.75x allows a really new singer to learn the notes. Then when comfortable, set to full speed.
Im also a bass of our male choir.lts very nice this guy singing without any error.Very clean and clear voice. He could be a model of every man singing at the choral group,l salute you Sir.
Thank y’all for posting this. Really helps my section at school
His voice can blow anyone away
Im the only bass/tenor in my choir, this helps me a lot due to my choir director not helping me with this song due to the fact that im only 1 person singing the part.
Gracias por esta versión, me ha servido de mucha ayuda en el Coro
Amazing! Thank you, Peter!
Thank you, this song is beautiful
This was four years ago and it's still showing up in my recommended.
Amazing sweet and anointed song
Me too I learn from here its help me. Thanks for uploading
Que iniciativa maravilhosa da igreja orientar as pessoas como cantar a melhor canção ao criador de todos os tempos !
I can hear the bass voice in full screen view and the whole choir in the small screen view. Wow that’s really cool 😊👍
this will help me a lot for bringing my team up to level !!! Thanks guys for making such thing! I hope to find more and more like this ... then we gonna participate at last ...

WOW...WHAT A VOICE!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Jacki Hansen that's Peter Hollens
Def think Im more comfortable in the bass range tho was placed as a tenor--uh,,, like 20 years ago!
😂 me too. Couldn’t cope with tenor, so I honourably ‘demoted’ myself to bass
My schools chamber choir sung this for a concert and scored high with the judges
Love the smoulder before he starts singing. 😅
Thank you for this lesson..
Such a great help, thank you very very much.
Absolutely brilliant. I love listening to the parts! By the way, when Peter sings the last 5 hallelujahs, except the fifth, he is singing does not match the music.

This is actually Baritone.
But I don't blame him, since he's a natural Tenor.
Pierre Odendaal that’s the bass part bro
That is the bass part there is no separate bass and baritone part. The basses sing that high in the whole piece.
In three second four cut.
Great job
Maravilloso.Espiritual.
I'd have to sing this at least 1 octave lower if not 2 to sing comfortably!
She all about that bass so I have her the baritone
Was going to keep singing on my channel away till later this year... looks like we're just going to have to go ahead anyway xD Most amazing voice Mr Hollens has, can't wait to hear the finished product!
+Peter Avastrat Let's hope the British Accent won't stand out too much xD especially when saying 'For-eVER' xD
+Peter Avastrat It will just enhance it. :) :P
Excelente idea!!
Very usefull much thanks :3
woow... loving this
2:27 He says for ever instead of and ever.
He also sings the wrong notes near the end. It's F#-G-D repeated over and over and he sings D-G-D
Matthew Curmi uh...no
Yes, he does. Though it's closer to 2:30
Matthew Curmi lol ok but it's a hard song...he did great overall
oh yes, and he will probably go to hell for this mistake...
He sang in the Baritone Range, but I think this is useful for those Baritones with limited range, like me, I can't do Tenor nor Bass
That’s literally the bass part
Can we sing this an octave lower?
How? :D what are you:D?
Ashraf Rezk awesome; that's what I am :D
Linkjoy123 yup
I suppose you could, but the higher notes 'lift the voices up.' You wouldn't want a piece like this to sound at all dour. After all, it's HALLELUJAH! ;)
Jeff Freeman Don't worry; some slight editing can make the tones brighter.
Vou saved my life
To me this is the baritone not bass
Bass part in the Baritone singing region sang by a tenor LOL
Considering I'm a Baritone, I can confirm it. When following him, I don't struggle in the parts where it normally does(In the lowest parts). Although that may be because I'm following him.
Jacob Summers
To be expected of course. He's a Tenor.
go talk with Handel
Yes. I was thinking exactly that.
The bass part in Hallelujah chorus is in the baritone range.
He is a tenor. But has some bass practice because he used to both the parts in some of his song videos earlier.
Que bien lo felicito
At measure 88 it reads FFGD and so on, but he sang DDGD, I am confused.
1:55
Wow!
How many cuts are required to make these? lol so many edits 😂
J'apprécie
watch this in 0.25 speed for some good music
He sang the bass notes quite well but in a barritone voice
Good singing, but he does say "for" instead of "and" right at around 2:30 and 3:53. I'd also prefer a rolled "r" on "reign" and less "er" at the end of the word "forever" and more of a British pronunciation.
megalantern13 ok go do it then , no one is stopping you from making your own video so you can do it how ever you want
Does camera quality matter?
it's a shame I can't drop the octave... I can only get to Eb
GOOD
For ever endeavour ???? You should cut the word here i guess so we may hear "for ever and ever"
Is Peter Lds???
+Christoffer Bank yes, he sang with david archuleta.. is a youtuber.
+Christoffer Bank I thought that common knowledge? lol :)
So is Lindsey Stirling and Devin Graham. It's been widely-debated that the Shaytards family is as well.
Just because he and his wife make a collab with Mormon Tabernacle doesn't mean they are latter day saints. It's just a project.
+Arif Wicaksono just Wanted to ask
+Arif Wicaksono I'm an atheist and I'm going to be participating FWIW.
Maybe my music reading is rusty but at the end, is he singing a d instead of a an F#?
the lyrics is different from what's showing and what peter's singing. what do I go by?
Just the "forever and ever" parts
+Sang Yoon Just what Peter is singing and what's on the sheet music. The other vocals in the background come from the other parts (tenor, alto, and soprano).
+Jamie Durisko Peter mixes up some "Forever"s with some "and ever"s - which I know I will likely do too. He also sings D-G-D etc. rather than F#-G-D in the cadences at the end, but its no big deal since it doesn't change the chord. Again, my crimes will be worse.
I can barely hear the bass part
The bass part only comes out of the right side channel.
🙌🏿✝️🧎🏽
Sounds a little pixelated.
Not audible for bass
I could be wrong but this is not the bass part. You can hear the bass section in the original music. I sang bass in our choir and never encountered these high notes. We were an octave lower. But nice job all around.
Keith Sciacca This was the exact bass part in my choir. But ofc it's not a bad thing to have it an octave lower either.
That’s definitely the bass part. Those aren’t even high notes haha.
This is the bass part. More likely, you sang it in a different key. If you were accompanied by a band, it was probably transposed to C Major because it is easier to play for the wind instruments.
@@marcospintor1333 For bass singers that's pretty high.
uhmm I'm a baritone, and I believe this should be sung an octave lower to be considered bass?
No. That’s literally the bass part that was originally written. Basses don’t always have to sing so low. This is a song a of joy so Handle decided to write the bass part a little higher in their range
Are we being kidding!!??...he is not a bass, I can say it properly because I am a bass, it is not even baritone; no more to say.
He never claimed to be a bass. He’s just singing the bass part
