If you love the humor of Ghostworld you should read some Daniel Clowes comics. He wrote Ghostworld and his stuff is really funny

Much as I admire the acting chops of Mr McAvoy I feel remaking "Speak No Evil" was a bit of a waste. The original was mostly in English so why bother? Even if a feature isn't in English, if it's good it's good. No need for a re imagining. Think Night watch ; Let the right One In.... The OG versions are still fondly remembered, can we say the same about their English language counterparts?
Good to see that Alexandre Aja is at the helm of another movie I prefer the films he directs over the ones he produces. Never let Go looks interesting at the very least even if the critics feel "meh" about it.
I hope you'll enjoy Criterion's release of the Teen Apocalypse Trilogy (I did, though I wish I had waited for the sale now cause yikes pricey !) While I was content with the older Second Sight DVD's of the trilogy this I'd wager will be the ultimate release (I hope).
You're 100% correct about Sushi Girl, while I checked the film out because I'm Jimmy Duval fan Mr Todd made that film. His performance is sheer perfection. His art will live on but the man, he shall be severely missed.
    Questions
1 Which is your favourite Alex Aja remake?
2 Is the Exorcist II Heretic the worst horror movie there ever was and will be? (Just saw it & while it feels batshit cuckoo I've seen worse)
Loving the new hairdo sir ! You look like Sonic The Hedgehog's stylish older brother, I bet you're faster too . 😂 Take care.

I watched Tomie and Noroi after seeing your reviews last week. Tomie was pretty intense especially in the beginning, when the guy opened the plastic bag to reveal a decapitated head whose eyes were still moving her eyes. After seeing that sequence, I thought the film would be like Eraserhead. When she got hired at the restaurant and all the guys went mad, trying to get with her. I worked at a theater in the 80s, where male employees would fight over pretty female employees. In the movie, it was disturbing and, at the theater, it was hilarious.
Noroi had a brilliant filmmaking style combining found footage with news footage to make it look like it was grounded in reality. I was afraid that Mr. Hori, the super psychic with deep psychological isxues or the ugly Karen in the beginning, who yelled at the filmmaker were the most frightening characters. The climax when the filmmaker follows Mr. Hori in the dark had me riveted (although, I could have done without the dead dogs).
I watched Ghost Watch last month as part of my 31 Days Of Halloween in which I watched a different movie each night that takes place on or around Halloween. I was curious to see it because I hadn't seen it before. I liked it, but it could have been scarier. It reminded me of the Geraldo Rivera special in which he opened Al Capone's vault. I liked the banter between characters because I'm fascinated by British culture.
