I'm aromantic and asexual, too, and I so agree! Some people just want a close bond with a "companion"(?). That word always appealed to me, but life partner is also a good description. Someone you can share your life or a part of it with, who is reliable and you know each other in and out and can take care of each other in a non-sexual, non-romantic way. Just a deep human bond. Though if I had to choose just one Comedy, I'd stick with Much Ado through and through (and Tennant's Benedick is just... chefs kiss). The whole play is one giant quote, the triple-layer "wit" joke, "one woman is fair yet I am well, the other is virtuous, yet I am well, but till all virtues be in one woman (continues)" "that a woman birthed me, I thank her, that she brought me up, likewise I give her most humble thanks, but (continues)", "she misused me past the endurance of a block; an oak but with one green leaf on it would have answered her. My very visor began to assume life and scold with her! She said I was the prince's jester, and huddling jest upon jest with such conveyance upon me that I stood like a man at a mark with a whole army shooting at me! She speaks poignards, and every word stabs; if her breath were as terrible as her terminations, there were no living near her -she would infect the North Star! I wouldn't marry her that she had with her all that Adam had left him before he transgressed. She would make Hercules turn the spit; yea, and cleft his club for the fire too!"
