Yeah, ok, everyone at some point justified establishment’s role but when it came to actually stand up for civilian supremacy everyone started to polish boots except Imran Khan, mind you Khan only came into power once, before that he was kind an outsider who knew nothing about the ins and outs of the power corridors & the conspiracies of the past, once he got to know about them he made it clear what he wanted, paid and still paying the price for his stance, unlike others who whether for right or wrong reasons having been thrown out of the office time & again still didn’t learn their lessons, & kept running back to GHQ.

Well, a reminder that after IK had supported General Musharraf in his referendum, he said he would never again support a general for politics even if he was an angel. We all know what happened after 2012 and the establishment support. So also IK/PTI have flipped, and if they get a beneficial deal, they will do so again... it's Pakistani power politics... there are no principles...

If he was like other politicians he wouldn’t have spent almost a year in jail without being proven guilty that too not the sort of jails his opponents had the luxury to be in just for a small period of time, some even did the time at the places of their own choice.

As said, a BENEFICIAL deal that they aren't getting from the establishment right now. What happens in the future... no one can predict in Pakistan. But the point is that politics revolves around the establishment, not the people, bitter reality ...

Army Budget cut likely :
Shahbaz Sharif and the IMF MD met in Riyadh this week to discuss new $6 billion+ loan after June 2024. Pakistan has rolled-over $12 billion loans in past 1 year as unable to repay. It is likely that to save bankruptcy and fulfill IMF conditions the Army budget would be cut to show fiscal restraint.
