Every couple months I re-remember how intelligent Balaji is, he is so far ahead of his time. I haven't even watched the video yet, I just skipped to 3:53 where he said pseudonymity is already mainstream. Balaji is awesome, ok bye.

Its a compartmentalized life, like behaving differently around friends than you would behave around family or coworkers. People have been doing that long before social media.

pseudonymity IS decentralization (of one's ego). a.k.a alter-ego

Thanks for the forecast! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?

How does one's offline network of ppl factor into this? It seems it would be really hard to stay pseudonymous if any of the many ppl who know/knew you offline recognize you and tell their friends. No?

Yep, agreed. And it’s also really hard to stay pseudonymous when you share about yourself through that online presence. Just look at the guy who did slate star codex, or whatever that blog was called. Was anonymous for years before his name got leaked lol

Curious why your social network would not know what your psudonym was, in the WSJ example? Yes, there are people who I don't know who follow me on social media, but that doesn't mean that people who actually know me DON'T know my psuedonym - this only seems like it would apply if you are specifically going out to do something you wouldn't want associated with your actual self.

There’s a lot of powerful people, including governments, that would make any form of anonymity impossible, or at least illegal. How does this sort of decentralization protect against that? Or maybe, how *could* it protect against that?

people would just sell anon verified accounts if this idea was possible, and people would be hunting for their real identity
