They use the chambered round, gatlings and autocannon.
Npc can respawn, survival kit
I also found new npc at a ship I thought was mine.
Also if you leave and come back they also have a chance to spawn in chairs

Have you considered just having a fixed railgun available recessed in the prow for when you need to snipe engines and inhibitors?
As much as I love big guns firing, sometimes a scalpel is better than a hammer.

I thought about it, but aiming it precisely would be difficult I think. Maybe I'll try it.

It should be hard to miss as you always fly too close in combat

Blue gyro means override

It was blinking blue and green. I guess a timer was affecting it.
