    Yo Ben,
    Excellent job.
    You got another home run hit on your hands.
    Your customers are going to love all these fine details you bring up.
    I really like all your onscreen graphics, and images it really makes it easy to understand the point you're making.
    Also your “CON” at 25:20 about not being able to adjust the Low Battery Voltage Protection with the Wi-Fi APP. This is because brands like BlackVue, Thinkware, FineVu, and GNET use a 12 Volt power source directly to the camera with a proprietary barrel type power connector. The camera’s firmware can detect vehicle system voltage, and make operational adjustments based on that system voltage. Most all other brands, including Viofo use a USB interface for their power connection. So the camera is only able to see 5 Volts at all times. It has no idea what the vehicle’s system battery voltage is.
    Of course having the Low Battery Voltage cut off built in to the camera’s firmware can be more convenient because consumers won’t have to purchase additional hardwire kits for $15 to access parking mode & Low Battery Voltage cut off. But the down side is having a dash cam that uses a proprietary barrel type power cable that runs on 12 Volts that reduces operational flexibility. Of course the average consumer will not need this flexibility, but I for one really like the flexibility of running the camera off a USB Portable Power Bank for testing, diagnostic, and tinkering purposes. Also it makes it easier swapping cables for different lengths when its a universal USB Type-C power connection.
    So I hope Viofo never adopts the proprietary 12 Volt barrel type power connection, and just keeps it to the universal USB Type-C.
    -Chuck

      I agree with your note on why VIOFO does not do it. It is mainly a personal preference. Similar to the IPHONE or ANdroid debate. Once you get use to a feature you wonder why it is not offered elsewhere. It is a toss up but mainly an installer preference.

    The A139Pro looks like a clear winner. One SURPRIZING or perhaps PUZZLING design flaw however is the lens placement! It is located on the right hand side of the dashcam body facing forward. Smarter engineering by Thinkware (Q1000) and Blackvue (R970X) place the lens on the left hand side of the dashcam body. As you know most new cars now have a significant centre piece associated with the rear view mirror that extends down the windshield and typically houses a car safety camera. Let use a Toyota Rav4 as an example. To get the camera reasonable centred (an important factor) and to ensure the camera does not obstruct driver vision (even more important factor), the possibilities are limited. To get the lens centred, one can place the camera underneath the main centre piece body. However, this will obscure driver vision and may also be too low for the dashcam to work properly. One can have the lens somewhat centred by placing the A139 Pro dashcam immediately to the left of the centre piece (at the optimal height) but this will seriously block driver vision. The logical place for dashcam placement in NA is immediately to the right of the centre piece (at the optimal height to eliminate issues with driver vision and camera function). If one places the A139 immediately to the right of the centre piece, the lens will be not even close to centred (now unreasonable). I hope this helps illuminate the concern.

      I personally think if they release an A229 Pro or A129 Pro 4K 2. I think that will be the ultimate option with camera lens in the centre. I guess we will see what they come up with.

    As for not having the video screen, I personally like it like that. One, you don't have any distractions. Two, and this is very important, if there is an incident, then the Officer can retrieve that information a lot easier than getting it off of your phone.

We do not sell any t harness for that application at this time. We are looking at them though. I have seen the fitcamx and installed one. the video quality is not on par with a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor from the A139Pro. Disappointing to see brand new dash cams that still limit the SD card to 256gb. What happens if you use a 512gb or higher? Does it give an error message? Does it work but only use 256gb of it? Unreliable recording? Other?

    • @SafeDriveSolutions
      @SafeDriveSolutions  Рік тому +1

      Yes that is a good point. I know the IROAD and GNET dash cams we carry will support up to a 512gb micro sd card. To be honest 256 gb is great for most consumers. I have never tried to see how it would react. Might be a future test

    Were you using the filter on the lens in these clips? To be honest, the video quality between the three cameras is extremely close, with the exception of the time when you were exiting the tunnel.

      No i never use the polarized lens when comparing dash cam footage.
      Also the big difference is license plate pickup.
      We have a few videos highlighting that. I think they are in this video as well.

      @@SafeDriveSolutions Yes, on a few of the stills, there was a difference in the plates, but for the most part, you could still make them out.

    Hello dear
    I watch all your videos with great interest, they are excellent.

    6:00 Whats the AV Out for? Have you tried it? The manual says you can connect an external monitor, but what does it display? I would like to get the feed from the rear camera.

    • @SafeDriveSolutions
      @SafeDriveSolutions  Рік тому +1

      I do not have the cable for it to work. But if you have the correct cable it will output whatever was displayed on your screen of dash cam onto a seperate monitor. So if you wanted to use it as a back up camera. You could have the rear camera display on the monitor.

      @@SafeDriveSolutions Interesting. This is the only dashcam I found to have an AV out port, which is what i was looking for, but there are no reviews out there that demonstrate how it works. I thought this would be a better option than buying a mirror dashcam. Thanks again, great review.
