The weekend is set aside as a meaningful time to commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice of serving in the military so we can enjoy the benefits of freedom with which we are so richly blessed.
The teaching focus this week shines the spotlight on one the most deeply treasured passages of Scripture.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. (Romans 8:28-30)
One of the all-time giants of preaching, R.A. Torrey, calls this passage, “The soft pillow for a hurting heart.” That’s something we can all use as we deal with the aches and pains of life. Looking forward to seeing you this coming weekend.
