Seeing your videos makes me so happy and hopeful, Chrissie! But it breaks my heart to see a family member of mine make their life and world so small out of fear. And it seems the mental health professionals she works with don't even see the pattern. They keep telling her "oh take it easy and slow - surely that job/school/whatever was too difficult". It makes me want to scream that OCD treatment can be so lousy! Damn quacks (or simply OCD ignorant) milking money from suffering people.
Thanks Chrissie i avoid looking at picture of my children, as well as cooking in case a thought comes through.
I've been doing avoidance compulsions by ignoring/not playing anymore a game because it was what started my OCD. I had a inappropriate thought about a character who is a minor and started to spiral from there. I don't want to hr scared anymore and allow ocd to take away something that was important to me. Thank you for this, it's exactly what u needed to hear.

Oh yes please I'd love to go to one of her talks I am in Brisbane and would love to meet others also who are like me some days I feel so alone as there is not a social group that I can go to and just vent/ share my POCD and hear others with the same conditions without fear.

Hi Chrissie, happy New Year. I'm not all that anxious about flying in a commercial airliner (helicopters are a different matter) but on a Boeing or an Airbus you're way way safer than driving on the highway. Looking forward to following your social media in the year to come.

So for example if I try to avoid looking at a certain object because I don't want OCD to later make me doubt that I looked at the object for a bad reason or because I dont want OCD to make me feel like what its been making me believe is right, and then somehow another day I'm trying to avoid that object but OCD is kind of like look around for the object and I actually looked, and now it has given me anxiety because now OCD is making me doubt about why I looked at or looked for that object. Now the fact that I didn't avoid the object was that actual ERP since I didn't avoid to feel safe? But it gave me so much anxiety when I realized that I didn't avoid the one thing that I usually do. Hopefully I explained myself correctly.

I will never fly again. Fear of crashing, love the takeoff. Don't like giving up control of my life to other people. Fear of getting sick to my stomach, I limit my contact with people starting in November to May. When kids go back to school it's called the germ pool. Not so much a fear but hate driving because people in other vehicles are crazy , can't follow the rules and just make driving stressful and miserable. That is now carrying over to walking places . I notice all the cars that are speeding , running stop signs , tailgating. I really do not like people , I trust no one. I am curious what you fear about throwing up. I fear it will not end, you get sick , an hour later you get sick again. They were working on a vaccine for norovirus. A company makes a hand spray that kills noro, normal hand sanitizer does not kill it. Can't buy it in stores. I felt like gagging every day for months after getting a certain jab. What a horrible time. Have a safe flight!
Chrissie please say something to me. At least acknowledge me. For of all the thoughts I've accepted through reasoning with them there's always this one thought however absurd and terrifying that I've got to accept....or at least be ok with hanging around.
I need your help !
