They may not do as the LDS church does actually get ppl to read and pray and ponder however ultimately what the prophet says goes .. I remember when I was active I didn't sustain the prophet at a general conference and within hours I was having a phone call and made an appointment however for me it wasn't that bad as I said I wasn't gonna sustain someone I didn't know or even heard of as I had been inactive for years .. however I soon left the church after that
