- Today I review one of the NEW Tavern Style Pizzas from Pizza Hut®! ($17.49 - Medium)
In this video I review the Double Pepperoni version and below is all the information on this pizza and the 3 others. On the website and the poster there is no mention of Chicago Style Tavern Pizza but some articles are calling it Chicago Tavern Style. Whatever the case, I think this is VERY similar to The Edge Pizza they released a couple years ago. Here is all the info :
Pesto Margherita Tavern Pizza-sweet marinara, grape tomatoes, cheese, garlic, pesto, and parmesan-oregano seasoning on Pizza Hut's square-cut Thin 'N Crispy crust.
The Ultimate Tavern Pizza-sausage, pepperoni, fire-roasted peppers, onions, grape tomatoes, and parmesan-oregano seasoning on square-cut Thin 'N Crispy crust.
Spicy Chicken Sausage Tavern Pizza-spicy marinara, chicken sausage, fire roasted peppers, caramelized onions, and parmesan-oregano seasoning on square-cut Thin 'N Crispy crust.
Double Pepperoni Tavern Pizza-sweet marinara, classic pepperoni, crispy cupped pepperoni, and parmesan-oregano seasoning on square-cut Thin 'N Crispy crust.

Knowing my Pizza Hut, they will forget the seasoning or some other niggle. The employees are usually more "baked" than their pizzas.

The square cut is very chicago. In fact that whole pizza looks like it's Chicago Tavern style
There's nothing "Chicago" about square cut. That's a super common cut all through the Midwest. Hell, "tavern" style, while it might be popular in Chicago, is also just general Midwest pizza. It was just cheap pizza that was served in bars in the 1930s lol

Can't wait to try! I just check my local pizza hut and mine was only $10 medium and $12 large. I did spicy chicken sausage and ultimate. To see if there would be a difference. So pricing definitely varies by location.

This looks very good. I loved when they brought back the Edge pizza and this is pretty much the same thing. I think you can get this for about $12 if you order through the deals on the website too.
Domino's does the same thing for 5.55 . Must buy 2 at 5.55 each plus you get 2 toppings on each pizza. They been doing it for many years

The edge used to be a pre baked or par baked crust that was crispier when baked. They also use that same crust on the triple decker and insider pizza

Something I always do with frozen pizzas is move all (or most) of my pepperonis to the edge of the pizza...this looks good!

Dude, that looks awesome! I've always liked PH pizza, but I've been getting Marco's lately as they have the best deals all the time. I prefer thin, especially when trying to lose weight (suggestion is to get thin with just veggie toppings to reduce carbs, fat, and total calories but NOT give up eating pizza.) Gonna hafta to get one of these thinny thin pizzas this weekend. Thanx! ~Be Blessed

Review Brah did a review today on this also. They messed up his order, identical with yours, by only putting one type of pepperoni on and no garlic seasoning.
He needs to start going back to the place instead of Doordashing his food. Chains are notorious for undercutting DD orders.
Pizza Hut is all about the money! Have commented this on a few of your Pizza Hut videos. Again, I have kind of boycotted them because i don't drive so I have to get delivery. They have a $15 for delivery rule then it's over $6 for delivery fee, tax and then they want a tip!? I would be spending $30 on a pizza for myself! THAT IS INSANE!! I don't know why people support businesses that are doing that sort of thing.

Sweeter then Pizza Hut's sauce? I didn't htink that was possible. I like everything (well the Cheese Stuff Crust is less then to be desired) but the sauce. Good PSA as always. Don't see it on the site yet.

Domino's has had this pizza for years. A medium 2 toppings is only 5.99 when you buy 2 pizzas of your choice. So 2 medium size 2 toppings pizzas for $5.99 each .
You gotta order from the deals section of the app it like $12.99

Having grown up in the East, bar pizza (or Tavern pizza) was quite popular. I was happy to see the ad for Pizza Hut. I ordered a double pepperoni. It was terrible. Unpleasant cracker-like crust, hardly any sauce and not cut into squares. I ate a couple of pieces (tasted kind of like cheap frozen). I saved the rest for the next day but it couldn't be re-warmed.
I love Pizza Hut’s thin crust. Love the sauce, I don’t like sweet. Get my pizza cut in squares as that’s my preference. I always get the Italian sausage, curious about the spicy… When I get it home I sprinkle Basil & oregano on it.

The price should be $10 - $13, but I have a feeling a lot of Pizza Huts don't have their pricing set up correctly during the soft launch. I say wait a week and see. My local store has the large for $22, yikes! Even $13 sounds a lot to me for a thin Tavern style. You aren't getting much substance for your money. I could eat a whole one of these and still be hungry. This would be great to share for a party or for lunch or something. For dinner however, I need something with a little more crust and toppings.
I wish pizza hut would bring back the triple decker. Best pizza they ever had.

As someone from Chicago, that is not a tavern style. Tavern and thin crust are not the same thing. While Tavern does have a thinner crust, it's nowhere near the same thing as their thin and crispy, so this is bad from the get-go. It's like saying their pan pizza is a deep dish because it's a thicker dough. Now people everywhere are gonna think Chicago Tavern style is shit when in reality it's one of the best pizzas you'll ever have.
The best part of the Hut's thin crust IMO is the edge. I also wouldn't like a sweeter sauce. So probably a pass for me.

Not a fan of the cracker crust, prefer Donatos any day of the week, tavern pizza has thin crust but not cracker crust like this one does, Donatos is way better and actually tavern style

I'll definitely be trying it BUT the true Chicago style puts the ingredients UNDER the cheese....any over the cheese pizza is immediately B grade when you live here

Nice review as always. I had guessed 92. I had heard they have varieties for $12.00. I am sorry I unscribed. But at 3 -4 videos a day, I was missing out on other channels I like to watch.
