My 8th grade son is halfway through the MB Logic course. It has been one of his favorite courses. He highly recommends it.

My son used the logic course from master books with the videos from master books academy in 9th grade. I think it was very helpful and he enjoyed the videos. I loved that the fallacies were pointed out in defending the faith type scenarios which was important to me. The course became pretty challenging toward the end. Over all im very glad we used this curriculum. We also used the fallacy detective in 8th grade as prep. Not biblical scenarios but definitely entertaining to read!

For the Introduction to Logic from Master Books, there is video instruction available on master books academy.
I recently found your channel and I so appreciate your perspective of being farther down the road in homeschooling!

Thanks for sharing these resources. I have been looking for logic curriculum from a biblical viewpoint, so this is perfect timing!

This sounds really interesting. I have never taken or taught a logic course, but I'm considering it now. My son is a 10th grader thus year.

Thank you for sharing this. Our children are 7 years old and under. We play a game that we made up together so I would buy those curricula and tailor them to our children. People who target young children often appeal to emotion because children understand feelings. I believe logic should be taught from preschool onwards.

I do understand, we were open with our boys of dangers and how people might approach them😉
This may be something you could read through, and use what you learn to teach them in way they would comprehend😉. Their minds will envision situations differently than we would.😉
Praying for our children is so important!!! And sharing Gods word❤️

Intro to Logic videos can be purchased for 18months on MasterBooks Acadamy . We used it with our boys after reading the chapter and doing the exercises together. Plan to do it every few years. The Detective Fallacy is GREAT too!

    I love Jason Lisle.
We have followed him in his work on Fractals and Physics. I have had this Logic curriculum for the past couple of years.
I am looking forward to doing it this Fall. I am even more excited about the videos! I did not know about this. Thank you for sharing!

Traditional Logic and Material Logic that lead to Rhetoric from Memoria Press are very god curriculum as well.

This was so timely! With all the upcoming curriculum sales I have been trying to figure things out for next year. I didn’t love the Art of Argument-it’s good but just a lot of terms and I think it would frustrate dd. But I just recently came upon the Intro to Logic! Something to think about! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

This was very helpful and timely. I’ve been trying to decide between the fallacy detective and intro to logic. Do you think either of those would be ok for an 11th grader? I’m hoping for a 1/2 credit.

I’d love to see a more detailed comparison between intro to logic and fallacy detective. What the each cover or don’t cover. 😊

One of my Graduates just seen a picture of the Fallacy Detective and said “I liked that book”😉
It is written in an engaging way for student in very short chapters. It helps students recognize fallacies.
Someone is borrowing my books and let me have them for a day to do video😉.
But If needing 1/2 credit I would consider the FD 3 days a week and then Discerning Truth from Lisle one day a week. Once I get my books back in May I will do a look through😉
