      One thing they missed was side and front pics of the rider's position on the bike. The change in air resistance could be a large portion of the time difference. Also the wind direction. They should have done a minimum of five runs per bike.

    MORE GRIM DONUT PLEASE! We need an adventure series on it as if it were a character such as a black swan, trying to find out where it belongs or what its breed is. We need him to go through different riders, different spots and different challenges to help him find out what the hell he is and what family of bikes he came from / belongs to. Every episode giving it a clue and idea where or how next to pursue its quest for self-understanding.

    The carbon fiber hardtail (Procaliber) got 2:43, right in the big peloton so to speak.
    I don't get it, how could the full sus Canyon Lux be 11 seconds faster than a hardtail on gravel. And the Epic S-Works 5 was seconds faster than the hardtail.
    Would have been nice to list the weight of each bike in the results, but the hardtail must be right down there?

    • @jaselikesbikes
      @jaselikesbikes 4 роки тому

      The weights are listed in their field test video.

    • @GreenTimYoung
      @GreenTimYoung 4 роки тому

      jaselikesbikes But the Procaliber is not in the field test video.

    • @GreenTimYoung
      @GreenTimYoung 4 роки тому

      I’m suspicious too, then I looked closer at the things that have the biggest effect on flat out speed... and the Procaliber is on Maxxis tyres (looks like an Ardent but I can’t tell)
      Everything else is on new Schwalbe.
      The Procaliber is a heavy HT frame and it looks like it has a dropper and even gripshift (?)
      In a fair test, a $10k xc HT puts 10 seconds into all these bikes no doubt.
      I actually thought the Field test was a bit unfair since the Epic was a 2021 bike with AXS and the Supercaliber was a 2020 with the old Sids and regular XX1.
      Love the @pinkbike content, love Mike and Sarah, I just think the results are a bit flawed.

  • @GreenTimYoung
    @GreenTimYoung 4 роки тому

    HEY! What happened to the control tyres?
    The Procaliber is clearly on Maxxis (Ardent front?) and everything else runs on latest Schwalbe.
    On equal rubber a 3 year old Trek HT beats the $10k 2021 bikes on the efficiency test
    Tell me I’m I wrong?
