      The transition after the break actually changes where your voice was. Not that great of a thing. Just like stopping in between a strength training workout. Changes the muscle positioning or how you formulate the note.

    Thank you so much for these exercises: I love the way that you sing too, that helps guide my voice. I like that you remind us to be gentle and this enables me to go through all three warmups without too much stress on vocal chords. I am new to singing, (aged 68) as someone once told me I was flat which traumatised me. Doing your classes has really helped me find my voice. I so appreciate this, its changing my life!!! I've joined a choir and today will sing at a wedding.

      excellent! @Deborah Tree. how is now your voice? it is still flat? Don't worry about it .. just keep practicing vocal exercises... you will improve on it... I had a Cuban teacher and Choir director and she told us tha voice on a choir most time is flat. congratulations.

    This is extremely helpful. I practice part 1 of this series at least 2-3 times a week if I possibly can. It helps a lot if you have some singing experience. People who are just starting to sing, you might want to try out something more basic. This is intermediate level.

      Angel Arkhangael Hi Angel! HAve seen you on MArk Baxter's video comments! I like these warm ups,too. There is something about the "hootiness" that really helps me finding placement for "ah" sounds that I have trouble with. Working w/ this woman and Baxter, is a great blend! Eric Arsenault is also really helpful.

    • @Arkhangael
      @Arkhangael 9 років тому +2

      I totally agree. these 3 have really turned my natural voice into something really awesome. but i recently started classical training, which is absolutely different. I have paused some of the exercises that do not mix with the classical way of singing. lots to unlearn.. but i will come back to the soprano once i understand what i am doing in the tenor department.
      please also try Karmyn Tyler channel. Her exercises/warm ups are really helpful and right on point.
      to be honest, when i started (at 46), i didn't know what i was doing, so i did baritone, tenor, and soprano exercises. once i understood i was messing up with the training, it was too late. i had developed an awesome voice for an old man. lol

    • @wandanowicki2267
      @wandanowicki2267 9 років тому

      Angel Arkhangael I HAVE tried Karmyn Taylor!! Just some of the warm ups . Helpful --unusual sounds and syllables, but not as thorough as the others. I LOVE Baxters written comments. SO helpful while you are vocalizing. Ok--carry on. HAve fun!

    even after doing part one and part two when i begun to sang my voice was so hoarse and raspy. I have been recently ill could this be the reason or is there an underlying problem? it felt fine when i was doing the warmup itself (no raspiness) , but when i sang an actual song it went completely wrong. Did the warmup damage my voice?!

    • @pistachiomilk2983
      @pistachiomilk2983 9 років тому +3

      Libby Archer When you sing do your feel any strain in the neck ? More particularly in the region of the larynx? If so, that could be due to a bad technique. Honestly, there is little to no chance that it damaged your voice permanently, but if it keeps going it can be problematic and you can end up damaging your voice. I recommend taking at least one course with a vocal teacher just to fix this.

    This is great, however monetizing your video is kind of crappy to deal with when you're trying to sing along with a vocal warm up, and have to stop every 5 mins to hear a replay of Bernie Sanders's vision for america :\ just my 2 cents-- go into your settings and stop monetizing with ads.

      These are top notch warm up videos written and performed by highly trained professionals. Believe me they are getting very little or nothing sharing this gift with those of us that need help. If you shop around you can purchase these videos for very little cash. A professional lesson like this is running $50 to $60 per hour. Stop complaining, have a grateful heart, and please remember, we all need to eat, and therefore we all need to earn.
