That did indeed look just like a planet. I did almost the same just before Christmas with some old CDs. As you say it was a little on the thin side so I glued 3 CDs together and they turned out perfick, well I think so. Now all the family has one each. I took a few to a Christmas Bazaar a few weeks ago and they all sold. Now I have a few more to make as people asked if I could make more. Keep up the brilliant work Pam as I always look forward to seeing your projects. You are costing me a fortune Ha! Ha! Have a great day.
Lovely job Pam. You explain things so clear and concisely which is a change. Some either lecture at you, shout because they think the microphone doesn't work or mumble. I'm going to change Pink Floyd the Wall into a clock, just joking.....I have my Great, great uncles vinyl that is hideous that should do the job! Cheers Sean
That looks fantastic Pam. Wasn't sure when you put the last lot of colours on, but when they blend in properly they work a treat. Not sure if I like where you can the inner rim or if it works better. I think if you turned yourself a wood disc with a rim to keep all the resin in to show wood and resin would also look amazing. If the wood has character then some clear coloured resin may also look amazing. Well done!
Many thanks Paul the wood sounds like something i shall try ,thanks good idea. Im still in two minds as to if i like it but i wont win with all i make. :-)
When you put the swirls of colour on I didn't like it. Then you got the hot air on it and wow! Amazing!!! First thing I thought was a planet too. Really like It! Great work
I think that must be a record breaker . About time you made a clock.😀.I wonder if you took the resin off and put it on a turntable, would it play upside down???. Seriously it's fantastic!
Very good effect there Pam. Looks like a cats eye when you first did the colour swirl. Have you ever tried adding something to create "cells" something like alcohol or resin blast.
Hi Dermot ive not yet tried using something for creating cells but have looked at resi blast and also folk talk about using silicon spray so as i have that i will test out and film. Many thanks :-)
Looks very good just like you know what you are doing don't think you would have any problems selling them. I have been thinking of doing a clock out of wood where did you get the workings from?
Pam: Enjoyed video very much. Beautiful! Question: I have been watching your past bandsaw boxes and the question comes to my mind is : is there some formula for the thickness for cutting the front and back of both the box and the drawers? ron USA
Hi Ronald im not sure about formula for box thickness, on my big boxes the back is an average of 3/4 to a inch thick. The draws the front i do around 1/2 inch and back 1/4 but thats just me im self taught so im not sure if its right. Many thanks Pam :-)
hola ,,¿¿¿ cuanto tiempo tienes para vaciar la resina antes de que te gane y se seque??? cuantos minutos tienes antes de que la resina se seque ???? gracias
Hi Pam Have you ever used or tried resin from www.easycomposites.co.uk I have just used their GlassCast 3 for a large 2ft clock. They also have different grades for various applications and I also used their coloured pigments, opaque and translucent. Not bad prices either in my opinion. Oh and the clock turned out great, just like glass.
Hi Cliff yes i used to use it before i was able to get amazing clear cast in the uk and also cheaper if you buy the biggest container. Your clock sound amazing. Thank you :-)
Utilizo tintes de alumilita y polvos para perlas, en su mayoría, estos son realmente buenos. Puedes usar polvo de mica en lugar de perlas, ya que funcionan igual de bien. Espero esta ayuda. Muchas gracias
Nice work Pam is the record calling occupants of interplanetary craft. By the Carpenters ha ha see what I did there planets, carpenters,oh never mind great work as always love your videos.
Highlandboxes u r already helping me alot by ur amazing vids u made me buy some tools and i got my 1st ring finished yesterday And idk why but a word u said once is still stuck in my ears .. u said after finishing ur rings in a vid that they have a * llovellly * feeling to the wood .. for me the only thing i can think of when i touch my ring now is ur voice saying lovely 😁😁 I am big fan of urs keep doing amazing project 😊😊
Highlandboxes Why are u being sorry it's just a lovveellllly voice 😀 And tysm for replying my comments u have so much care for the followers from now on .. u will find a comment from me in every up coming vid 😁 cuz I'm new to this whole crafting thing and i would love to get some of ur experience 😊😊
Lovely result but I would never use any of my albums that way. I have a record player and still listen to them from time to time. Well when the record player is not covered in craft stuff. :P - Heidi
I have a friend with at least 2000 albums but probably more. I certainly wasn't going to count them. He's built custom storage for them that is not only functional but part of his decor. He considers them sacred so I never share any video that uses albums as a craft supply. He is better off not knowing such things exist. *laughs*
Great idea using old scratched LPs!!!! Lovely result !!!
I like how it turned out.
Absolutely stunning Pam. You've done yourself proud with it.
Many thanks Joe :-)
That's a great idea, I wasn't sure about the design but at the end it came out really nice. Thank you for sharing. Great project. I'll have to try it.

Amazing work! How does the record not warp from the heat of the resin and heat gun??
I think that must be a record breaker . About time you made a clock.😀.I wonder if you took the resin off and put it on a turntable, would it play upside down???. Seriously it's fantastic!
Cool.... loved when the heat gun mixed the colors!!! Hope that wasn't a new LP... :)

I'm actually using this idea for a project in Design-Technology as it is such a great thing to do with Pvc plastic (Records)
Thank you :-)
Very good effect there Pam. Looks like a cats eye when you first did the colour swirl. Have you ever tried adding something to create "cells" something like alcohol or resin blast.
dermot forte Actually the best results come from adding contact solution. It just creates these wonderful cells that just pop with color!
Great tip tracy thank you will get some to test out :-)
Hi Dermot ive not yet tried using something for creating cells but have looked at resi blast and also folk talk about using silicon spray so as i have that i will test out and film. Many thanks :-)
Beautiful
Superb, best out of waste 👍
But I don't understand Which are the 2 liquids u mixed up ?
It was epoxy resin. Thank you :-)

@@Highlandboxes ok , muchas gracias
How would you hang it on a wall?
on the back of the clock mechanism it has a loop to hang it :-)
beautiful!!!
Thank you :-)
Interesting, I never thought of using old LPs like that. The ideal graveyard for Barry Manilow and Kamahl?!!!
haha many thanks :-)
What do you do to the back? How do you protect from the resin drips?
The best thing ive found is to use is masking tape on back and remove before resin get hard sadly i didnt do it on this one :-)
Is that your Proclaimers album? ;-)
Stunning work Pam.
All the best,
Paul
Haha yeh that would have been used for sure lol many thanks :-)
Did you add anything to the back of it
Hi Pam

He considers them sacred so I never share any video that uses albums as a craft supply. He is better off not knowing such things exist. *laughs*
What ratio is your epoxy ?
Hi Nicky its 1 to 1 :-)
It's a good job but probably too many colours used to start with. Less is more ;0)
