    Absolutely agreed! It is 100% a visa trap especially if you don't have a tech background. The fee you pay versus the jobs you get (w/o sponsorship esp) it's such a waste! Not just immigrants, the Irish citizens themselves feel more trapped in their own country. This country is extremely beautiful no doubt but the standard of living compared to any other eu country is below average. Esp considering the taxes, rent, housing crisis, insurance, roi and other stuff. 40% tax on your salary is unbelievably high considering the alarming rent we pay each month. The govt won't even talk about it or do nothing about, we've been pushing for years for a response. What's the point of paying 20k euros for a one year master's degree if you won't get to work in a job you want and continue to live in the country for long without work sponsorship. This video was such an honest overview and opinion :)
    Well done

      if you are from non tech background than it is hard as you said but if you know that this country will be hard for you as you are from non tech background than you should have not came here.. i am then you shouldn't come here..

      I came here to finish my master's. I'm giving my honest opinion on the after study/job search experience for someone who IS looking for an opinion based on the experience of a non-tech student :)

    Thanks, Sharmishta! Your inputs really helped me prepare mentally for the risks there are... I don't think anyone talks about them as much and I just wanted you to know that I really appreciate you sharing your experience in this process.

    Hey, thank you for making this video. I totally agree with you. I would also advise anyone to think twice before deciding to study in Ireland. Invest your precious money in countries like Canada but, never Ireland.

    Your last video made me re think about my decision to go to UCD. Since I checked about the critical skill occupation list and my job roles were not under that. This sept was my joining but now I have cancelled my plan.

    Hey Sharmista, So I had a tech backgroung but working as a freelancer in Digital Marketing and ads field for over a year. I was thinking of pursuing masters in Ireland but not sure how many jobs are available in marketing and if any is it relatively easy to get them?

    Hey thanks for the video. Actually i am currently doing my BBA in business analytics and planning to apply for Msc Business analytics in Ireland. As business analytics is in the critical skill, will u recommend me to go ahead and apply for irish universities? bcoz my main goal is to secure a job as well as an irish PR.

    I got so so scared after watching your video. Not your fault. Your video was an eye opener for me. I was going to chuck my 30 lakhs for a general skill occupation job !!!

    • @AliveToTellaTale
      @AliveToTellaTale  3 роки тому +1

      Well I know many from general skill who end up doing sponsored jobs in Ireland but sometimes due to bad luck, not just the general but even the critical skill visa guys end up leaving the country and coming back to India due to weird visa restrictions. It's just complicated and hard to crack. As long as you have weighed your pros and cons, I am sure you are not taking a hasty decision. 😊 Good luck!
