one of the issues i’ve found with my pro mag for my 5.7 is the lip not catching the round completely leaving just the rim grabbed allowing the round to kinda pivot and get all fucky, i recently removed the bottom and flipped the spring from left to right and it seems to have somewhat improved the issue. give it a shot it might work for you too
Will do! Appreciate the tip! Thanks for watching.
Yeah, I always avoid all shit Pro Mag. I’ve had really good luck with the company Mec-Gar as far as after market handgun mags.
Yeah mec gar is actually oem for most companies like Beretta, cz, and sig
@@TerriblyTactical Good to know!
They don’t sell 5.7
hey man glad i came across your channel! i heard u say u carry the 5.7 for self defense. i just bought last week and i can’t find a good holster for it or mag pouch that will fit properly or that is specifically made for the fn 5.7. Do you have any suggestions? I prefer to carry from the appendix but carrying on the side isn’t a problem
bit.ly/2WioStY
You can find an appendix rig here for the fn!
@@TerriblyTactical thanks man!
@@Only1Mizzy no problem
The only pro mag I own is a 9 round extended single stack for my M2.0 Shield in .40s&w, what’s annoying is yeah it doesn’t drop free and it doesn’t just slide in when fully loaded....real annoying. You got to slap it in, but hey I’m hoping that if I’ve emptied my seven round mag needing 9 more then I’ll have my adrenaline going enough where I’ll slap it in no problem. But honestly because the stock 6 round magazine that doesn’t have the pinkie extension slides in and feeds more reliably to the point I I usually take that instead. Total if I reload I got my 7+1 +6 so 14 rounds total should be good enough in a personal defense situation, I agree, don’t trust your life with a pro mag, get an extended mag if you like to have one and that’s the only option for higher capacity, but when in doubt pay the extra money for better mags in your conceal carry.
Amen to that my dude!
Is 15 bro 💚 but yeah I read it it’s crazy tho hope you got it fixed
I don’t trust mine either one works flawlessly but the other 2 I ordered they jam a lot
Yeah it's a shame cuz they're cool but yeah not worth it if they don't work right
I'm wondering if you can take the fn mag and add the 10 round promag extension for better reliability but non the less a theory do a vid on it but 👍👍
The problem is most likely with the springs
their 10/22 drums are solid but these magazines have the same failures as my mini14 promags. I wont touch them anymore.
Yeah it's rather disappointing
Wonder if you have to some Filing down some spots I had to do some work on pro mag sks and AK mags and they started to work better after removing some plastic
Not sure honestly
I had the same problem it jam up in my gun
Yeah pro mags are super hit or miss
Just got a FN Five Seven for a good price. Hopefully, now NATO has standardized 5.7x28mm more ammo manufacturers will get on board with the 5.7. Speer getting into defense 5.7 ammo is good news.
Yes it sure is, it's great news!
Thanks for watching!
Anyone have the problem with not fitting the whole 20 rounds in? I could only fit 9 rounds and when I started doing research it says the springs on these mags where to short…I stretched them out a bit (they were tight asl) and now it fits 15…but the spring is about 2 rings longer then the original FN spring..In theory if I snipped the rings to the same size as the FN spring, should it fit the whole 20 rounds now?
Haven't had any issues with not being able to fill to capacity so honestly I have no idea
I have three ten rounders that only fit seven
@@briandavis9441 I fixed the problem..I just bought an original FN spring and put it in the shitty pro mag body lol works like a charm and had no jams..if your mags are pro mag I would definitely recommend that.
I can’t even get the 11th round in my banshee bro and it’s pissing me off so much
Damn that's rough
Update: I’ve took the spring out and stretched it out a bit and now it fits 15 rounds but now the spring is about 2 rings longer then the FN spring…I’m thinking about snipping it by 2 rings and seeing if that would let me fit the extra 5 rounds..thoughts?
Can you disassemble those magazines?
You can from my understanding yes
@@TerriblyTacticalhave you tried swapping a 20 round fn mag with that pro mag
Cmmg 10 round extentions are garbage too
Is that so?
Man I took mine to the range and idk what happened but after one shot all of the rounds got loose inside the mag and it sounded like maracas
@@retroreem1486 no good
I own a ProMag 30 rounder and have never had an issue.
Mixed bag with them typically
sure sure you didnt
@@chriskriaris4304 150 rounds ( three boxes )American
Eagle 40 grain .. zero malfunctions. 😀
@@payup2023I agree with you sometimes it’s the cheap bullets ppl wanna out than wonder why theirs Jamm up lol 😂
Just ordered 🥺
Maybe yours will work
Ever figure it out cuz mine still won’t feed with any type
I have not unfortunately
@@TerriblyTactical pretty much throw it away😂😂 just got the 50rd fixing to go to the range and see if it works
Pro mag has never been good... I leave them loaded in the ammo can and when I open it they are half full with rounds all over... then I remember that noise I heard from the closet a few days prior...
Haha yeah they're definitely hit or miss with quality and reliability but I do and have had several of their mags that work flawlessly like their glock 50rd drum, the lcp 10rd mag, and their m1 carbine 30 shot mags.
That sucks. In a perfect world....
Hahah yeah it is what it is though. Promag is so hit or miss.
Promag is just garbage always has been. Bought multiple mags and none of them are reliable. I got a promag AK drum for Christmas and it literally can’t even feed one round nothing from that drum will chamber I’ve tried every ammo manufacturer under the sun. Chalk them up to photo shoot mags good looks terrible quality.
I've had good luck with a few of their mags for different guns but other designs seem more prone to failure...really hit or miss and I'd never trust my life to one but they can be fun range toys sometimes
That's because they are made for the 1st FN 5.7 made
There's no difference between that and this
@@TerriblyTactical it's a difference.
I have a 55 round drum from PROMAG it works flawlessly for my FN 5.7 MK2.
It will also work with the MRD THE LATEST OF THE FN 5.7.
Again there's a difference from the first MODEL to THE 3RD MODEL-MRD‼️
@@makuceso are u sure the pro mag 55 round drum will work with the mrd version? I don't see much info online and I want to get 1 but I don't want to waste my money
Easy fix change the mag springs to something stronger.
What 30 round springs exist to swap to?
Excess arms
Get the 55 round drum !!!! Works great I have it on my page
That's what I've heard. I'll have to check it out!
guess whos getting a 1917 savage 32 and got their car fixed?
I'm gunna take a shot in the dark and say you hahaha congrats man!
@@TerriblyTactical great guess lol
@@joemorganeatmyshortschannel I'm rather perceptive lol
Disappointed but not surprised
Yeah to say the least
I had feed problems with my 30-round magazines, too.
Oh, it fed rounds alright. Three at a time!
And then one of the mags' left feed lip broke!
ua-cam.com/video/-PTsa0CSJU4/v-deo.html
Sent them back, at the shipping cost of $20, but i got the balance of the $80 purchase price back.
If you have to have an extended mag for everyday use, there isn't one. The 10-round extension kit from CMMG is no good because the dimensions of the inner surfaces (magazine well) on the 10-round extension is too wide, and the follower gets jammed on it *every* time. It's also a huge pain in the ass to install.
Your only options: 20-round factory mags (never buy Pro Mags), or the 55-round ProMag drum. The drum is not what I would call a daily shooter because it scrapes the bottom of the bolt slightly. However, it works reliably, and it's absolutely perfect for that one time you need a buttload of bullets on tap without the need for a reload.
Lol niceeeee
Dude this was so helpful..I have the Banshee MK57 from CMMG and I have to slap that mag in like it owes me money. Plus I cannot seem to get the 11th round in 😭 Ik newer mags have this problem but I’ve had 10 round in this thing for about a month now and the spring retention will not give. I was thinking about buying the conversation 10+ thank you 🙏🏼.
