This is exactly how it feels to me, too!! I was hopping onto youtube to kill some time and I was just about jumping for joy at the update video!! So excited to have even more hours of fun on this amazing game.
Could be cool to craft it into an improvised vest too for some protection from animal attacks, using leather and scrap metal to make straps at a workbench with a hammer and sewing kit then combine it with the pan. To balance it, it could have a chance to break after an attack and give you a damaged frying pan back afterwards.
I have played this game for 8 years now, and what a lovely journey. This game is a masterpiece, and they keep bringing fresh, new things to life. I know we paid for this update, but it was well worth what we paid. I fondly remember the early days, but I love where we are now. I'm excited to try all the new recipes and fishing mechanics. Thank you Hinterland, with all the love in my Aviator's Jacket! Now, let's see if we can find some of these new revolvers....
Fantastic to see a little more diversity in wild life. Love the more extensive cooking system and the updates to fishing. An excellent update that breathes new life into some of the more simplistic systems. Very eager to hear about the base customization hopefully soon! 🦈❤️

excellent additions! The recipes are an idea that I really like but, above all, the improvement of fishing is fantastic. Both for being able to create holes where you want (excellent idea) and for being able to create "flags for fishing", which is a very interesting idea. Really nice additions. Really

The Long Dark and No Man's Sky are the only games whose major updates actually make me excited and happy. I'm approaching 1,000 hours in The Long Dark, and I think I've certainly got my money's worth at this point!
Holy Jesus! I just played the game yesterday thinking about it will worth the waiting for part 3 and here we are! OH MY GOD! That was super fast. Edit: I watched the video all the way through twice to measure the contents been released and all I do now is to stand here by myself and clap for this topnotch great work been done by Hinterland with tears in my eyes. I'm proud of you all been working so hard for this game getting better and better each update. The DLC indeed worth every penny, I never doubted Hinterland one bit. I love this game!

I'm always happy to see new updates for this truly remarkable game. There just isn't any other game like The Long Dark, which makes it so unique and replayable. I've been playing this game for 7 years off and on now, it's insane how far this game has come since the early days when I started. Keep up the great work as always Hinterland.
I really enjoy the quiet exploration of abandoned places, while periodically evading and fending off hostile wildlife, and the resource management aspect of searching for food and other supplies. I like the locomotive in broken railway as well. It looks like the EMD SW1200s that were used on the old Canfor Englewood railway on Vancouver Island. If you ever add another unique rifle, make it look like the Lee Enfield "Jungle carbine". It would fit in with the other Lee Enfield inspired hunting rifles.

Just noticed that the DLC is available on PS5 (last time i checked was Dec 2022). Instantly bought it. You people from Hinterland Studios earned my trust over the years and i am happy to Support you. I want to add that i don't care much about how long of a time you need to add all the stuff to the game. So don't stress yourselfs to much. If the game teached my anything it is to be patient and never push to hard. I will be here applauding and supporting you. Much love ❤
Ive always thought adding a boars and foxes to the game would really be cool. Boars could fight back when wolves try to attack. Foxes could eat our carcasses and having a chance of picking up items that are left on the ground
The only times I ever get food poisoning is when I accidentally eat raw meat, and in fact most of my long survival runs have ended because of that, even if my character just took a few calories of it before I cancelled the action, which is very frustrating. Burdock tea would hardly be needed for combating food poisoning if the game would ask for confirmation whenever the player is about to eat raw meat.

I wish developers had an opportunity to develop this masterpiece for a very very long time, so one day we will realise that the game itself has evolved so much, that there is almost nothing left from the first version exept one thing: its wonderful and unique atmosphere

I had to watch this video before completely diving into the game. It was an overwhelming sight to find flour, potatoes, and a skillet without having any idea what else is out there

Hello, I am a Nintendo player and although always with all the games we are the last to receive the updates, you are the only company that does not even forget about us and that you worry about having your multiplatform users happy, I really like the long dark and with great anticipation I look forward to the new update, by the way I was curious to know if at some point the shotgun or other types of shotguns could arrive to the game, it would be very in line with the aesthetics, Thank you Hinterland. Dear Hinterland, here are two suggestions I have for additional mechanics. 1) Cargo pants and combat pants should have a small bonus to carry weight. Just a half kilo or so. After all, this is why people wear these types of pants. 2) If your fire burns out due to wind, you should be able to salvage a little of the fuel. That’s it. Looking forward to checking out the new content.

I know your team had some pressure put on them and bit off a little more than they could chew in regards to time constraints BUT I've never been fussed about Hinterland taking the time they need to make solid content...they're good for it and good to their workers. While I'm super happy for the cooking content (I hope more recipes will come in the future!) I'm mostly looking forward to seeing what you guys do with 'base customization'
I know a lot of real bush pilots have a small single shot hunting shotgun. Usually a .410 in their survival bail out bags. Good enough to hunt rabbits and birds while staying lightweight. Might be a cool addition to the game. Wont be powerful enough to hunt deer but maybe the noise of the shot might be enough to scare a lone wolf away.
I own the game, have been holding out anxiously to try it out untill i finish a couple other games i have on the go...., and updates continue to be worked on and added to the game, before I've even had the chance to try it. As I know once I check it out I'll be stuck within its digital world for a long time. After this last update, I just can't hold out any longer......I'm starting it today. So great owning a game in which you know the Developers are continually working on and upgrading with new and fresh content. I buy the updates and DLC's to support the Developers, fore When they put this much time and creativity into a game you know your supporting something worth while. Many many thanks
Hey, hinterland, how about a gamemode where you can follow missions to ultimately aquire a pet husky or smth like that? That would be so epic to have a dog pet to counter the crushing loneliness. Of course youd have to keep it alive and equip it as well to maximize its movement speed and hunger levels, or its potential to help you during fights against wolfpacks. One can dream... You could let it roam with a risk for injury or death, to aquire food on its own, or allow a mechanism where you can let it feed on carcasses etc while youre present, too.
I am Really enjoying the campaign and survival mode, i have just purchased the expansion pass & I'm enjoying that too, If it could be possible in a future update i would like to see the gloves & jackets appear on the characters hands & arms. Keep up the great work on this great game & Thank you.

i wonder if we will ever have some kind of base building, like log cabins, or underground burrows that youd need a shovel to dig, hand saws to cut trees, the hammer, new nails that you could craft in the forge, and have like a day z type building plan where you make a plan for each wall/roof/floor piece, kinda like thw work bench. limited size bases but enough room for storage that you could carry home, stuff like this etc, or make this another version of the game, not main suvival but survival + building

This is one game that I can play the story over and over. I appreciate this game. It’s 1 of a kind.

After this last update, I just can't hold out any longer......I'm starting it today.
So great owning a game in which you know the Developers are continually working on and upgrading with new and fresh content.

Hey, hinterland, how about a gamemode where you can follow missions to ultimately aquire a pet husky or smth like that? That would be so epic to have a dog pet to counter the crushing loneliness. Of course youd have to keep it alive and equip it as well to maximize its movement speed and hunger levels, or its potential to help you during fights against wolfpacks. One can dream... You could let it roam with a risk for injury or death, to aquire food on its own, or allow a mechanism where you can let it feed on carcasses etc while youre present, too.
That would be too cool.
The addition of co-op would be amazing.. I really think this game has so much potential as a cooperative experience as well as a solo one.

I am Really enjoying the campaign and survival mode, i have just purchased the expansion pass & I'm enjoying that too, If it could be possible in a future update i would like to see the gloves & jackets appear on the characters hands & arms. Keep up the great work on this great game & Thank you.

Absolutely amazing game, just bought the expansion for this, ready to check out those recipes and ptarmigans, cant wait for the cougars, been wanting cougars in the game for years 😁
i wonder if we will ever have some kind of base building, like log cabins, or underground burrows that youd need a shovel to dig, hand saws to cut trees, the hammer, new nails that you could craft in the forge, and have like a day z type building plan where you make a plan for each wall/roof/floor piece, kinda like thw work bench. limited size bases but enough room for storage that you could carry home, stuff like this etc, or make this another version of the game, not main suvival but survival + building

Thank you very much for your hard work! The update is very cool! I have always dreamed of cooking! And what else to do in splendid isolation? I would like to add something like new clothes, accessories, mountain glasses in the future. New items, like tents, that we could set up like snow shelters. It would be cool! Develop further! Love you
