Great review. Absolutely waiting for the smoothstar comparison! Keep up the amazing work and skating. 👍
Yes please - a comparison with this and the toledo 77 would be awesome
I just got a Yow Pipe and love it! I'm glad I found your channel I've found your tutorials really helpful. Thanks! Greetings from Houston Texas
Use smaller wheels to avoid wheel bite when riding in park. I ride 58mm wheels and it is perfect. The original soft 66mm wheels are good for cruising roads, where you usually don't do much of radical turns. You mostly can get a wheel bite in pipe, where you can use smaller wheels. Everything equal or smaller than 62mm should be good.
When said should I do a comparison I'm like yes yes yes yes!!!! Great vids btw you are my number 1 source of learning new surfskate tricks
Dude, i just bought mine! cant wait! yours seems to be the only review video out there on the Pukas Black, so thanks a bunch! Love from Berlin
Danke !! 🤙
great review as always, can't wait for the comparison. off the top of my head will be ease of pumping and carving, tight turns and surf maneuvers, using it on the streets as a cruiser and using it in a skate park. thanks for the great review again.
Alrighty!
We want a comparison with the smoothstar !!!!! :)
Comparing the capabilities for crusing, skatepark, surf manœuvres as you usually do would be perfect.
Thx again for this really nice review as usual.
Yes, please do a smoothstar comparison video! This would be awesome. Your channel is the best! Keep going with your super helpful videos! My friends and I love your videos! Greetings from Germany
Hey Shane, very nice review!
You should try the YOW Snappers! Deep concave and shorter wheelbase. Super fun for skatepark rides
Vraiment bien ta présentation, je possède le modèle "PADANG PADANG" qui je crois a les mêmes dimensions. Mais je n'est pas encore essayé d'autres marques pour comparer. Encore une fois bravo pour ta vidéo. Arnaud
Great video Shane! I love what your doing for the community. Do you use any specific wheels that are good for snaps/sliding out?
Nice review! I am a little bit surprized for the wheelbite though...
Great video. Please compare yow/smoothstar/carver!
I liked the review! For the comparison it would be nice so know, which boad is best/good for what kind of riding. For example, the carvers are more stiff so I think they are faster then a YOW. But with a YOW you can do more drastical turns and so on.
Just leaving some support :) Looking forward to more tutorials.
Thanks for support 😊
Very nice surfskating Shane. Am interested in how your high skills will accelerate your progression in surfing. Looking forward to your comparison between YOW and Smoothstar. I am interested in surfskates to be used as surf trainers. Surfboards don't have concave decks so the YOW deck seems more realistic. Then again, it is the total feel of the surfskate and the Smoothstar Felipe 77 is so realistic as a surf trainer.
nice test ! I've tried 4 brand ,smoothstar ,carver, swelltech ,decathlon. haven't tried YOW yet. hope you can make a comparison video , would like to know your opinions :)
Great video! Please compare yow x smoothstar 77 !
Shane need the compassion video asap! As looking to potentially buy either of them. Cheers Jon
Great review as always! Are going to test a YOW with a shorter wheelbase (18" or 17") and with more concave (like the Snappers) as well?
You could make a video comparing Carver C7 / Smoothstar. Thanks!
I'm just now seeing this.. Would be interested in seeing a full side by side comparisons, what they shine for, what they don't.. of all of your decks 😁 Carver, Waterborne, 66, Pukas, Filipe and the Spicy 💥💯
Will do!
Should try Swelltech too! 👌🏻
could you make comparing review for Yow and smoothstar? + caver board
-oh you mentioned you gonna do it. thanks!
I m curious about maximum speed you can get by pumping on the road. Which one is faster? and which one is easier to get maximum speed?
I m not a surfer but I wanna get closer to surfing things through this kind of products.
But first of all I wanna enjoy riding simply.
Surfing training by surf skate is good goal, but I m not gonna get a chance to be a surfer soon...
question: any particular reason yours is "squeaking" at the front trucks? is it due to moisture? do the trucks need to be oiled periodically? Thanks in advance, love your vids!
hello Shane. great videos continue the good work. As you test the two adapters, waterborne and Yow. Between the two what adapter do you prefer.
I have a carver c7 and i like it very much but now i want something more snappier, with with more turn and i don't know what to buy, yow or waterborne. Couldyou help me?
Thanks
I love the YOW for the rebound and smoothness.
And I really love the waterborne rail adapter for the lean it gives.
Get both if you can
great Reviews! Which Yow-board and wheelbase would you recommend for a part time surfer (6 weeks/year) to have the surf-feeling being 173 and weighing around 74kg. I drive on the road and not in a pipe only.
Help and advice much appreciated.
Greetings from Germany :-)
The snapper is best overall simply because of the concave. But if you ride mostly on road, then choose a board that matches your surf stance or a bit longer, also wide enough ( on both ends) to have max rail control and force transfer with toes and heels
Your valuable advice is highly appreciated.
What's your recommendation for a beginner.
I have access to purchase below 2 adapters, depending on the budget and place i live.
1. Yow V4 with S4 springs, which is recommended for
Top!
Shane! How ya going? Question. I currently ride the carver green room 34 inch CX. I want to pick up a YOW. Would this be the equivalent or what would you recommend as something of an equal wheel base? Thanks!
Gday, I’m 6’2” and 110kg - intermediate surfer need more cross training… would the pukas dark be the best for me or is there a better board like Mabe the smooth star mantaray for example? What would you recommend?
Do the comparison!
Please make comparison videooo
Would this board be long enough for someone 6ft+? Seems like surf stance would be bit narrow right?
How many millimeters is cancave under front leg.
did you feel like that wheelbase was a bit long? I'm the same height and curious how the yows fit. Supposedly the measurements are between truck screws which means a 20" wheelbase on one skate can be different on another... hard to figure out sizing when you cant actually see it in person first.
Hi. Yes the pukas dark wb is slightly on the longer side. More cruisu than snappy.
Very stable and perfect for going the distance
That squeaking noise is a NO-GO.
Have you tried to jump on this board? Not high gaps, but moderate jumping on the road just for fun or override small obstacles like pipes etc
Check YOW's own video, he is jumping with it
@@CostadelaLuzVideos thanks for your reply. I've found YOW testing with jumps also here ua-cam.com/video/VtvidsPGrpE/v-deo.html
super test, quelle différence d'après toi entre Carver et YOW d'un point de vue pratique et feeling? un mieux que l'autre pour les débutants et les confirmés? merci
what is the diameter wheels
What is that noise?
6:31 BUT HOW?!
Where can u buy one please lo
Check their website !
Pour 1m75cm de taille, ce skate à 34' est trop long, trop grand. Grand max faut rester à 31' .
Awesome video dude! A comparison between Yow and Smoothstar would be great, which is better for surf training and quality of ride etc.. 🤙🏼
