The best part about this album is that no one knew it was coming
I remember just browsing on my phone trying to fall asleep and seeing an email from Spotify that there was a new Em album out and I thought it was maybe a song or something. I opened it up and started The Ringer. I then turned to my wife and said you can go to sleep I’ll be up for a while. I listened to the whole thing before falling asleep. It was such a great surprise.

My story is that for some reason i was awake at 4 a.m which is something i wasn't used to do at the time, and suddently my phone started to get all this notifications from his UA-cam channel popping up, he dropped every song of the album at the same time at exact 4 a.m. It took me a while to understand what it was, I initially thought his channel got hacked, I was in no way expecting him to drop an album that year and he did on the same night that i happened to be awake at that exact time. Shit felt magical.
One of my favorites, that album was bomb AF too 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

More context: "I mailed the bitch back and said if I did that, I'd just be like everyone else in the fucking industry, especially NF-ing Recovery clone of ME." At least Em made a reference to that on the song Heat, in Revival. Not from the US, but rich people are mostly assholes in every part of the world and you can confirm it very easily in Trump's case, and I'm not saying Clinton or Biden are saints, to me all US presidents were imperialist pos.

He drew a line in the sand with his fanbase said if they voted for the " Orange guy" ( see previous bar) he doesn't want them as fans.. He got ripped apart for that and lost millions of fans because of it .. he is explaining in this verse how he could've delivered it better and clarified more because he was trying to do the right thing and stand up for the black community. pointing out that Trump is a racist...hope that clarifies it a little ..
