I was thinking about Joker 2 last night and I hold the minority opinion in that I liked it. SPOILERS... The movie was to long, the musical numbers did not advance the story and seemed unnecessary at most points, and there were some plot points that did not make sense (i.e., did Quinn make love to him in prison and how was she even able get in in said way?). However, the main story was about cause and affect or consequences. Joker, at least the tail end of it, was about the rise of Joker, and this was about the fall out. All actions have consequences, good, bad, or indifferent, and Arthur's consequences resulted in a dreadful prison sentence and in the end his death. The very end regarding the inmate killing him was the major consequence for his actions and the inmate took on Joker mantel, but him cutting his face to seemingly like The Dark Knight Joker was sort of dumb. To me there was a great movie in there, but it bogged down with a long running time and odd musical numbers that did not advance the story. In the end we landed on an okay/good movie in my opinion. The acting was laudable and directing and particularly cinematography great. I would not be shocked if in many years from now we look back at Joker 2 and somehow see a masterpiece ahead of it's time. I think it makes a more than serviceable companion piece to the original. I actually liked it more than Joker, but I was never a mega fan of this franchise. Just my insight.
Came for the review, stayed for the chest, arms and jawline combo.
haha thanks
Totally agree! This was a huge disappointment!
