Aww Georgia and Giovanni has been my favourite since I saw their first dance and I always vote for them and to see that they were in the dance off tonight was so sad. I hope Team GG doesnt think that they have no fans because there are loads of people that love them! ♥ They did not deserve to be in the dance off tonight, their foxtrot brought tears to my eyes. Really didn't need those background dancers either, felt like they ruined it, being in the way; same goes for the other dances. The only dance that the background dancers added anything to was Helen and Aljaz's.

They're dressed as the actual characters from the film and the stage show. Their costumes are designed to look like that, but you're right. For this programme they looked completely out of place.

I can't get past those French Toasts stuck on her upper body when she dances! costume department folks must be fired for this... That aside, they had real chemistry and the fluidity of this foxtrot is wonderful. No visible mistakes but I only detected possibly ONE heel lead. Maybe it's because the camera wasn't catching her footwork adequately or that her dress was too long to spot spotty (gasp!) footwork. It's presumably the quarter finals so both technical prowess and artistic interpretation must be spot on. I would say a nine.
+Scd Observer War Drobe really failed to come through this week. Why did Gio get away without any Beast make-up? Was he afraid of hiding his pretty features? Jay came in his own clothes. Gleb rented a costume from Village People impersonators. Katie's wig was being used for the third time. Let's hope we get something better in the semis.
Judges were being quite strict this week, weren't they? Clearly being more finicky now it's Quarter finals and all the dancers left are good.

+Jo Edwards Yes, I know. Token Beast make up, and not even a lot of it. Didn't look anything like the Beast - it could even have been digitally superimposed. All we saw live was Gio's face unsullied by any attempt to make him fearsome or ugly. Beauty and the Prince instead of Beauty and the Beast.
dajtoad1 You must have forgotten that in the original Disney version, by the time the Beast is dancing with Belle, his cursed is already removed. So strictly speaking (pun not intended) the dance they showed on the main show is correct.

Lovely! Did anyone else find Georgia's dress a bit tacky... I don't know why. Don't get me started on the dancer teapots etc, i was laughing my head off did ruin it slightly! Totally team GG though!

What an enchanting performance! Georgia was a beautiful 'Belle' and Giovanni a very dishy Prince!! ( You can keep Gleb for me........Giovanni is by far the more 'handsome' of the newcomers! )
Think she'll really stand out from next week. Seems like the most natural, all round dancer, which will help with two dances - I assume. Katie and Kelly will struggle more. Though I think Jay and Anita will actually handle the two fairly well too. But Georgia definitely seems to have that bit of polish - not a single bad, or even mediocre, dance all season.

While not my favorite of hers (plus it was more of a Viennese waltz than a foxtrot, let alone more of a waltz than Kellie's), they're undeniably talented and cute together. It annoys me to no end that Georgia won't win since Jay is unstoppable, much like Harry Judd a few years ago, because he's the only male celeb and has the biggest built-in fanbase by far. How many regular viewers, let alone people like me watching from the U.S., actually prefer him let alone think he's the best dancer? Not even close! Georgia is tops.
+zzzzz87 It's not even close to a viennese waltz, it's in the wrong time signature (4|4 whereas VW is 6|8), maybe closer to an American Smooth, but I do agree about wanting her to win. I do really like Jay though so if it's either him or Georgia I'd be happy.
+zzzzz87 I don't think Jay came to Strictly with THAT much of a 'built-in fanbase.' The Wanted were never extremely popular - especially among the general Strictly viewers. I would be interested to see how high up the voting ranks he was in the first week compared to now. I think he was basically guaranteed the win after the incredible Pulp Fiction jive. It was one the greatest dances in the shows history - and I suspect he has obliterated everyone else in the votes since. And actually I disagree with you. I DO think Jay is the best dancer - especially because it's so much harder for the male celebs. The fact he is completely adorable since he fixed his hair doesn't hurt either. I would like to see Anita win tbh - I like seeing celebs with zero dance background gradually improve over the series, like she has.
+zzzzz87 I think the vast majority of the audience had no idea who Jay was when he started. His 'built-in' fanbase has emerged from his performances on Strictly. And yes, he is far and away the best dancer, which is why people like him (if you watch the daily ITT show as well, you'll also know he's witty and unpretentious, which you don't see a lot of on the main show as he tends to be off with the fairies a bit for a while after dancing).

Viennese Waltz can ONLY be danced to 6/8 time, not the 4/4 time that "Beauty and the Beast" is written in. Nope. This was a straight-up International Standard Foxtrot. Where is your perception coming from that it wasn't?
+Lee Cox The choreography was more waltz to me than foxtrot. I'm not a technical professional ballroom dance expert. I can still see she's a top dancer.
LOSE THE BACKGROUND DANCERS! They do it in US and it started out kind of exciting but now there are like 10 extra dancers in each performance and like with this one, I saw myself focusing more on the background dancers than Georgia. SCD needs to watch out for this otherwise they could turn to trash like DWTS, and I sincerely don't want that.
