- The Dinki company produced this model in the years 1969 - 1975. It had many interesting solutions. One of them was active suspension, which was characterized by thin axles. These wheel axles, due to a bend in the central part, provided themselves with suspension. To display the subtitles in your language in the movie, please press C on the computer or the three dots on the mobile phone in the movie. The Dinky company, as usual, reproduced the Ford Capri in great detail. The model had folding seats, opening doors and rectangular crystal headlights. In my copy, I had to make a new PET glass pane based on a broken original pane. I also made new wheel axles, because the old ones were quite bent and could not be straightened. I was able to reproduce the paint, which was quite a complex color. I also made a cardboard box for it according to the original one. That car brings back memories, as a child my brother in a tantrum, threw the Dinky Capri at me, it missed and broke the bedroom window. As always the restored model looks fabulous. I like the sequence for selecting the paint color.

The remanufacturing of the axles is also top notch. All in all, this GAEC (Ford factory designation of the British Capri, in Europe the car was officially called GECP).

Interesting details on that model, I like the wheels and headlights. Another excellent restoration and lovely colour. It’s a shame that the original casting on Dinky toys wasn’t as accurate as on Corgi toys. Still, a nice model from the era and a lovely job done by you.

If that's correct how do you think it would work on a vintage clear plastic dial window from a vintage radio ? Any thoughts.

I am amazed how you mange to clean small parts with the Dremel.

There is a Matchbox one that’s come out in the last year or so. I also have a much earlier one (from the 1980s) that was a Maxi Taxi that had the engine sticking out of the hood, and you could slant it as I remember.

Thank you very much. Machine for making glass for myself I am building a miniature one on which I work now, it is a friend's machine in a thermoforming plant, when it comes to making axle ends, they do it on their home-made welding machine. Best wishes

Wow every post is great, never had this one but wish l did , saw a bunch of matchbox and hot wheels at out church flea maket ... not as coolest l remember , but a guy had a SHADO interceptor from UFO... beat up ,missing a landing gear and had a GI Joe missle glued in where the original had been , wanted $50 for it , wow.
