- Today I did a big food shop at Marks and Spencer's! No better way to cheer myself up than with some treats from the M&S food hall in Paddington. SO many lovely British food options, and loads of food to enjoy over the weekend.

So sorry to learn about you losing your mother Hannah. I lost mine nearly 7 years ago, it has been the hardest thing in life to go through. Thinking of Mother's Day coming up is depressing. I've just found your channel over the last week or two and love seeing your videos walking through the streets of London and looking through the food shops you have there. Very different than here in the middle of the US where I live. I'm so glad you seem to have as much or more of a sweet tooth than I have LOL! Please keep yourself safe, and I would love to see vlogs of just you in your flat preparing dinner or talking while having a drink or whatever makes you happy. God Bless you and your family!

I lost my mum 9 years ago and make a point of always celebrating her birthday and I'm certain your mum would love the fact you bought some roses💕 The tragic news of Sarah's death has reminded us all to take extra care and I've had a rethink about some of the routes I currently walk. I am always hyper alert and never listen to music when out and about and think I will buy a 'screech alarm'. I had one years ago which fortunately never had to use but I think they are a good idea, especially for isolated routes. I bought strawberries in Marks and Spencer this week also, they were delicious! Hope you have a Sparks card Hannah? Everytime you swipe it you have a chance of getting your shopping for free ! Your little niece is going to love her birthday dress and tutu, not to mention the chocolate treats ! 🐥💗🎈

Hannah, whenever I get like that, I put on a movie and clean my apartment. And then I pamper myself with my favorite Jo Malone and L'Occitane products. And when I am done I can't help but feel better because my small space is clean and so am I. LOL! I think its my way of doing my best to control what I can, when it feels like my life is out of control.
Yes that's a great plan! A clean home and some pampering!
I generally just eat junk food!

@@Liz-in8lu Hi Liz! I love the hand creams and soaps from L’Occitane. I like their citrusy fragrances best. Lemon verbena and the lime ones are my two favorites. I did get their Christmas crackers set a couple of years ago and gave them out to the other girls at the office. They were a hit.

I'm in England a month of every year - they absolutely have a different "palette" than us, and you can see that in the prepared foods Hannah purchased. Unusual combinations in a dish, a penchant for sour-type things, untypical ingredients, etc... (Love their more traditional food however.)

Hannah, I totally can understand why you are feeling the way you are. I saw the news today from the UK. That poor young girl and her family. It is so hard to reconcile the London of 2021 with the London I fell in love with in 2008 and 2010. I felt safe and very free to go wherever I wanted, even at night ( and even on Halloween night). I traveled alone and was free to go as I pleased. M&S was always one of my fave pop-in spots for yummy lunch bits. All the shopping and out walking bits you do remind me of my wonderful times in London. Thank you for all you do....my nostalgia and memories are ones I cherish. Maybe one day I will get to revisit London and other places I love, and see the folks who became like my family (my friends who made my time there AMAZING in 2010). With the CV keeping us shutdown both here in the US, and there, my wish to travel is almost unnerving. Hope you can make it to the US in the next year. Try coming to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. You'd love it.

I’ve always loved Marks! As a Brit in the US, so much homesickness but your walks and highlighting local grocery buys, really helps! The packaging is amazing back home. Very good quality.good “normal” portion sizes...I especially miss the big Easter eggs which we don’t get here in the US..
Haven’t been home for a few years and miss my UK family a lot. Enjoy the spring days which always help lift spirits.

Loved this grocery store haul! Your M&S has such an amazing selection of ready-made meals. My favorites were the ham rolls, huli huli salad, and I love that you treated yourself to roses 🌹
made me homesick! I remember getting M&S Mince Pies. Even British treats aren't full of some our bad stuff in the states.

I can appreciate your mood, Hannah. I lost my Mom 30 years ago on Easter Sunday. This time of the year is never the best for me. As a result, I've been eating tons of chocolate! Further, I am shocked and saddened by what has happened in London this past week. My thoughts and solidarity are with the women of the UK now.

It’s been 28 years since my mum passed away, and a year since my dad. I’m usually okay on Mother’s Day. It’s worth doing the emergency sos thing on your iPhone to make you feel a bit more comfortable going out. And it can let out a warning sound just before it calls the police.

Hey Hannah, ah sending you big squeeze hugs, the news is shocking and I completely understand this weekend is hard for many of us without our mums. This lockdown has been the hardest in terms of mood for me. But the kids are back at school and am counting down the days till the garden rule of 6 comes in. Keep those lush treats coming - I would so do the same, I’ve heard M & S are doing marmite hot cross buns if that’s your thing!!!

Also if you like Shrimp (Prawns) please try Chinese black bean chili sauce, really good with fish and shrimp. You can get them on Amazon and a jar lasts a really long time. You can even use it on veg. Good luck and keep the videos coming

I think everyone is feeling really shaken this week - and coming on top of current restrictions and having been so isolated just makes it that bit worse - at least Spring is on the way now though 🌼. I’m really missing M&S food - I usually pop in on my way home from work to pick up a few end of day bargains! Those prawns with tomato and Basil are wonderful stirred through pasta as a quick dinner by the way 😊x

I understand your feeling about your Mom. Mine will be gone 25 years on the 19 the and it still hurts and saddens me. We can all grow older, but we always miss our Moms. I think we are all feeling a little down lately. I lost my mum when I was 5 years old so I'm know how your feeling Hannah with mother's day around the corner.
I enjoy watching your vlogs and you puts smile on my face which lifts my spirits up a little.
I also don't feel safe anymore going out when it gets dark so I try and get an hour exercise during the day.

Hey don’t worry - we’re all feeling a bit iffy at the moment. I think it’s because we’re starting to feel that we’re on the brink of getting back out there but we’re not quite there yet. Top tip though - don’t watch the news for a few days. Honestly. Only watch the headlines if there is a change in lockdown procedures or something otherwise it will really get you down (especially as we’re not doing the normal stuff we do to counter the relentless bad stuff that the news feeds us with). I’m not going all hippy and saying tune out completely but just take a couple of days off (like you do naturally when you go to Disney and all you’re worried about is what the weather is like that day, what times the park opens, what FastPasses you want to get, etc. You know, the important stuff).

I live 26miles away from my nearest M&S, so I too end up spending too much. M&S foods are brilliant.

On staff wearing masks , I work for Sainsburys and it is quite hard to wear a mask constantly for a whole shift , 4-8 hours x
I know what you mean about feeling down. I made a reservation to go to the beach in late May. I don't know if I will be able to, but it made me feel so much better.
Let say if we pick up extra food and put in the cart, then we saved a trip or two to grocery shop again. Besides, if you decide that you should have gotten items the first time may not be available the second trip. Happy grocery shopping, Hannah, love you plenty!
