This is awsome. But I think upgrading the archer from bow to gun is too early, it's like time travel. So I think we should add 1 more upgrade for the archer, that's the first upgrade (Crossbowman: Longer range, higher damage), then the last upgrade: Rifle. Also, if we have enough slots, we can add Catapult (Very high range, slow reload, high damage, HP = archer, can spread damage to nearby enemies), its first upgrade: Ballista: Very high damage, can one-shot giant level 1, penetration (Only stop when go through 5 enemies), but no spread damage, and finally its last upgrade: Artillery: spread damage (wider), damage = first upgrade, faster reload, can shoot anywhere in the map :D
Thanks for the awesome ideas! 😄 I'm actually working on adding the healer and berserker units based on your previous suggestion. I was also thinking about adding a crossbow upgrade before moving to the rifle, so we're definitely on the same page! The catapult and its upgrades sound great too! 😊
You're definitely making improvements - these things are always more fun when there's a good amount of buildup and back-and-forth, rather than a quick-and-dirty blowout. Upgrading straight from loinclothed dudes with bows to dudes with guns seems a bit odd, though. Really, this whole setup is crying out for a full-blown Age of War-style progression through various historical ages, with the ability to upgrade not only the units, but the bases as well (which could change appearance with the highest unit upgrade achieved), maybe even adding off-map arrow barrages (and later catapults and artillery) and having the furniture on the map change with the highest achieved age as well (incidentally I do appreciate that units can go behind the fences and bushes, even if it's purely cosmetic). Another way to do it would be to make it an escalating conflict all in the same age. Make the starting units themed like medieval peasant levies, and gradually the armies commit their better troops as the conflict escalates from a skirmish between a few scouts to the decisive battle of the war (not unlike Gettysburg). In this instance you could have the superior units (such as crossbowmen, arming sword and shield infantry, and eventually zweihander knights in full plate, arquebusiers, and pikemen) still become unlocked as more of the basic peasant levies are summoned, but not outright replace the peasant levies, since an army's always gotta have its cannon fodder. You could still have the off-map artillery in this instance, and maybe upgrading defenses for the bases, with walls and towers and things of that nature. This series has massive potential and I hope to see you make something truly amazing out of it. EDIT: I just realized the beat drop at 12:07 is perfectly synced to green pushing out six new giants. That was a _nice_ touch. Kudos.
Thank you! 😊 Yes, that's exactly the direction I want to take things, step by step. The goal is to eventually have multiple kinds of upgradable units, upgradable towers, and progression through various ages, from the Stone Age to the Modern Age. As for the beat drop, that wasn't intentional, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😄
tiny warriors look cute!
You should add cavalry and or wooden defenses that would spawn around the tower if a marble hits it
