Very fitting video for a transplanted Canadian legend. This is a story movies are made from. And mark my words there will be one! RIP Ronnie. The Hawk has soared.
The Hawk. A toronto icon. Always thought he was a great performer. He also created excellent bands, like The Band. Ronnie took his music very seriously. A much loved man.
Saw the Hawk when he was recording his short lived "Honky Tonk" show at CtV's studios, in the early 80's, gracious man to the fans who came out to cheer him on. My favourite quote from the hawk, which I use whenever I can. "90% of my money I spent on wine women and song, the other 10% I wasted" Cheers Ronnie!
What a great tune, and no wonder, looking at the players involved. But Ronnie's voice sounds great, as good as ever. This release should have received a lot more airplay, that's the problem with the music business, it no longer serves us up the best, but just the best financed.
RONNIE AND GORDON LIGHTFOOT....ARE GOOD FRIENDS....THEY ARE KIND AND GENEROUS....HUMBLE...SOULS.......I LOVE BEING AROUND THEM WHEN EVER I AM ABLE TO.....DRUMMING TO THEIR SONGS. AND MUSIC..IS AWESOME..AND ENJOYABLE.TO DO.....GREAT MEMORIES...CHEERS.MY FRIENDS...WALLY
I grew up calling him uncle Ronnie, he was my actual uncles bestfriend. He always said my uncle would outlive him they passed away the same day a decade apart I'd like to think they're together again rocking out.
Ronnie's always good to hear. The late Levon Helm's was always welcome on the kit, but drummer, Michael Turnpenny, was my favourite back in the days of Ronnie and the Corvairs.
Just have to stpp in someday when i find myself goin nofth . make sure when the dogs get too howlin, it's just my old flathead-45 bike and not onno coockin! Lots of love to you and yours. Ps now i know why levon was bald when we lost brother Levon, you done p0lished his head with blessin ...fan
I know this will sound like a silly question; the back-up singer, is that Jill Hennessy from Crossing Jordan? Thank-you for any and and responses. I was out of the Loop for great deal of time Hospitals / Rehab facilities. Again thank-you
Rest In Peace, Hawk and thank you for giving us all that you had.

One of my favorite performers. He should have had more success here in the US. May he have many more years.
