The Scout 800 when equipped with the correct tyres can go anywhere on the map but it 100% needs the autonomous winch because of its capacity to overturn. The autonomous winch works even when the vehicle is upside down. With the roofrack its also great for topping up fuel in other trucks when they have long journeys. I aslo noticed you appear to use the winch or towing, you can do both at the same time for added pulling power. Keep up the good work.
True every scout vehicle needs the automatic wrench and roof racks (repair supplies) but also not to lift it to high that it will roll because of the hill or pepple. Must lift kits for scouts hinder it. And always mud tyres, yes even for normal roads because you never know when your going off road. Muds always kinda work in the snow maps but chained are good.
This is really helpful, Ludicrous and Frogrjb, thanks! I'll look for the autonomous winch for the Scout. I can see how that could be really helpful. I think we're a bit away from the roof rack, I'll check. Thanks!
Hey Zilla, UA-cam overlord's allowed me to find your channel. I've been playing this game for awhile and I enjoy the play through immensely. To experience Michigan for the first time again... Boy it gets tough later! So, it probably depends on the console you're playing on but the tracks you leave behind can make it more difficult to traverse, especially if you create ruts from heavy traffic thru an area. I find the tracks disappear when you start a new game session in my experience. As an added tip you can make your transmission gear down without stopping when you're bogging through deep mud by tapping LB. Helps so you don't lose momentum!
Thanks, Calypso! I'm curious to see how hard the second area in Michigan gets, as it's starting to feel like we're able to handle a good bit of the stuff that Black River can toss at us. And that's great to know about the tracks, thanks! I've been looking at them in new sessions, and I feel like there are some remnants of earlier activity, but I'm not really sure. I might take some screen shots of some field and run a few tests to see what happens. (I'm playing on a PC.) And that LB to drop gears will be immediately helpful, that's good to know, thanks! Now if I can just remember to switch to AWD I'll be set. :) And thanks for the tip on units, I'm okay with either one, but it's good to know that things can be switched. I think that'd be handy in hard mode, when you pay for gas.
This series gets better with each episode, a couple of close calls, those rocks looked decidedly dodgy, but you made it and a new map as well. Brilliant.
Now you are discovering the magic. Having adventures. Forgetting your AWD. Soon you will make an entire trip with the parking brake on. Then you will be a pro.
I’m thinking you might need one of the big boy trucks to pull that out properly! Don’t reassign the horn, it always makes me laugh when you randomly press it when you’re manoeuvring the trucks! 😂 12:35 roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads! Oh no, this scout truck looks like it handles a lot like the ambulances in GTA! A brand new area! Gives an idea of just how huge this game is now you’ve gone somewhere else!
Ha! It turns out that I can't figure out how to reassign the horn, so we should be stuck with random beeping now and then for a while. :) ~ I'm actually going to restart the game this week in Hard Mode, so more and new content coming soon. :)
Great stuff, another game you have me very interested in trying out. Made my 13 year old watch the episode with me as he's played the game. The horn honking had us ROFL everytime....love it!
Loving this series and watching them all. I have to come back to this one though. But when you were trying to pull that truck out of the water at 4:00 or so, were you consciously ignoring the hint that was popping up that you need a bigger truck? LOL The hint also showed up at 5:36.
Hahaha! No, those things come up so often that I never read them. I totally missed the ones from the last episode telling me to switch to All-Wheel Drive when I was stuck in the mud using two-wheel drive. I should probably look at them a bit more often, but to be honest, if they tell me I need a bigger truck, it probably just makes me more determined to succeed with the smaller truck. Thanks for the kind words, too, glad you're enjoying the series!
I was a little concerned when you positioned yourself on top of that cliff ready to go down....I thought no good was going to come of that. Made it with ease though!
I have alot on knowledge about this game with more than 150+ hours in the game and I'm not sure on how hard you want to make it for yourself by not using better trucks. As evan using the dlc car's/trucks or even the best trucks in the game alot of the missions are very challenging while using them. So I'm just unsure with watching your game play on how far you want to get into the game, as it will take alot long the way your going about it.
Thanks for the thoughts! To clarify a bit, I want to use the better trucks but I want to earn them first. So I'll be happy to sell off some of these trucks we have now and replace them with better trucks, but I just don't want to start using the free better trucks you get with the DLCs. That should work, right?
Haha! Someone actually let me know about that in on one of the earlier videos, and the differential lock too. So yep, I'm totally primed to forget to use both of these things in an upcoming video. ;) Thanks for stopping in. :)
Ha! I'm a bit ahead of this now but have still mainly been using the pickup. I do want to give the Scout a bit more of a drive around, though, see what it's like. Sounds like a winch upgrade is a must.
Good episode, love the alter ego telling you how you messed up. Had me laughing.
That alter ego seems quite full of himself, to be honest. ;)

Oh and I forgot to mention, if you prefer you can change the measurement units to Miles/gallons in the setting menu, under the game tab.

I'm sure we have many mishaps in the suitcase of adventure to come. Thanks for subbing. :)

I was very disappointed when the Drainage mission didn't actually drain anything :( Was still fun though!
Oh, that's good to know, thanks! I was thinking it might remove the water from those areas. Oh, well.

Glad you both liked it! I don't think I can switch out the horn button either, but I think I''m getting better at not using it so much now. :)
Aw, don't be so hard on yourself with the ADW, it happens!! Otherwise really good driving, and yes, that other truck flips like pancakes.
The funny part was that the game kept giving me those green tip boxes specifically pointing out the AWD idea. But who reads those things anyway? :)
@@ZillaBlitz Exactly, you are concentrating on other things!
so the more you drive on mud it will make it more muddy and more harder to get threw
Good to know, thanks blazer bomb!
Love this series, keep it up. =)
Thanks, Hissy Cat!

I wasn't full of confidence either, to be fair. 50-50 whether we ended up rolling down the hill. But the SnowRunner gods shined on us! :)
I played when the game first came out and you got the scout for free, you just have to switch to it in the map menu and then reset it to the garage
Thanks! Yes, I figured that out a few minutes later, so all is well. :)
