The good thing is he did eleven great albums till 1976. In only seven years he delivered it all that material!!!
Also, there are like 15 awesome singles after 76.
He's a fantastic musician, a genius. He surely will be remember forever,
Theyre both fantastic... i mean elton and bernie. 🙏
Elton John is your best friend ❤
It's always a treat to see anything relating to the Hudson Brothers! Interesting to see Bill Hudson working behind the control board with Bernie. The album they were recording (Ba Fa) is one of the Hudson Brothers best! Thank you so much for posting this gem!! :-)
love elton john
I love him more! 48 yrs. & counting! He's my DARLING!
for those of you that say Elton never did any good albums after 1976 , you are on drugs. Some of his best work has been in the 1990s to the present.
Actually, after 1976, he did some good work in the 80s (Too Low 4 Zero, Ice on Fire, Reg Strikes Back, and Sleeping with the Past were actually very underrated) and 90s (The One, Made in England, Lion King, and even the marginally good album The Big Picture). However, since 1997, his album work has been pretty dire, with the exception of the album he did with Leon Russell. Elton's voice is trashed today.
you obviously have not heart Songs from the west coast (his best rated cd probably of all his career) and in my opinion the best of all you meantioned followed by the captain and the kid( excellent) and peachtree road which is not my fav but has some pretty awesome gems ( porch swing in tupelo for one) but of course this is a;; subjective , even the reviews that the cds got are subjective but if we are going by facts of what was written when released then the last 4 cds have been the best rated of his entire career but then when elton was on top he was not a critical darling. W e tend to forget that.
totallyout9 I'm sorry, but I don't think songs like "They Call Her the Cat" will have any kind of legacy. I would rather listen to the "Victim of Love" or "Leather Jackets" albums. I will amend my previous statement to include SFTWC. "Original Sin", "This Train..." and "I want Love" were great pieces even though they did not chart high.
Good god no. Victim of Love was complete crap, Leather Jackets was only marginally better.
I've been listening to his later stuff the past 2 weeks and finding it better than I recalled.
super. i hope that there is more of this stuff
Pretty funny to see Daren McGavin (Kolchak the Night Stalker) arriving at the Troubadour in a limo. He clearly had cooler tastes then his TV character alter ego would lead you to believe.
I was trying to remember who that was . . . thanks! he was such an excellent actor. Back in the days when such people existed.
@@kamakirinoko The father in "Christmas Story!"
The studio footage was from august 19 1970
It's a safe bet that at 0:29 Bernie is not receiving a can of Diet Coke. And you can see him actually take the pop top off-it was the days before they attached the top to the can, because too many people on beaches were cutting their feet. Not to mention the sea life!. Truly a long time ago.
People use to put the tab into the can then accidentally choke when the tab floated back out when drinking the soda.
hahahah, I also thought that!
When I was growing up you took soda water bottles you found into the store to redeem for .05. Long before crazy plastic water bottles polluting everything.
Very unique and obscure. I didn't know what it was and people in this post say Hudson Brothers. I remember the single "Rendezvous".
no lengthy footage of that concert, or the 1974 thanksgiving day concert. none exist. what a huge waste of rock history
I do have a dvd with some short film footage of that night with Lennon plus some rare pictures and all the song performances are on it. Pretty fun to watch and yes as you said too bad there isnt more. Thanks and great material here....more more more more!
Yeah, I'm not sure about this one either. My first inclination is to say that it's one of the many cover songs Elton recorded for budget releases in the late '60s and early '70s, but on second thought, why would Bernie be there? What is the title of that song?
What song is this playing?
What is the track? At one point I thought it was Harmony but then the chords went off at a tangent so not that then.
What's the song playing?
Sounds a bit like John Lennon's Imagine
Is that Jamie lee Curtis @ 1:47?
Jay C yes
Jamie Lee Curtis the actres?
Maybe, born in 58
@thespermdonor I own 99% of Elton releases and I have no idea what that is.
It is NOT an Elton John song. Plus, you hear someone wailing in what is NOT an Elton John voice. I think it could be an Elton protégé.
