@@TimLerchGuitar Man, I have not only learned so much from your vids, but the cool vibe is something that is sorely missing from most youtube videos. Keep going man, what an inspiration.
Hi Tim. What a great lesson I might get by the time I die. You are very generous sharing your rice bowl like you do. As an elder player of music I'm happy to show anyone that's interested in my pianistics my licks and tricks I taught myself. Your a great teacher as well as performer. I recently put the UA-cam of I live the life I love on my bluetooth head phones and played along with my other headphones on top of those from my Yamaha p80 piano. WHAT FUN. NOW back to the guitar
Thanks Tim I love it when you put these videos out breaking down the voicings, walking us through the progression one of these days I'm going to get the true fire material and the book.on chord melody.c.
Hey Tim, thanks for the amazing lessons. Have you ever made or thought about making a video showing your approach to learning a tune and being able to improvise solo on it? I’ve seen a video from Julian Lage for example where he explains the things he would do; playing just the melody and bass, trying to play just the melody and some guide tones, etc. I’d love to see your personal approach and the studies you come up with to learn how to improvise over a tune.
Using G13 G9 with third in bass aka Bm7b5 Uses G7 with 5th in bass aka Dm6 but Dm7 also works. Then a G9 shape with 7th in bass at third fret. So you've got all Bass notes covered and can do the same thing in C7.
Has anyone tab-ed all the notes of Tim's chord melody here? I bought his chord chart from the link, but would love to have his improvised blues chord melody played here also...
@@williamkeithfunderburk1257 I have a section in my new instructional website www.timsguitarworkshop.com called UA-cam + where we are slowly adding popular YT vids and transcribing the playing. I’ll add that one to the list and see if we can’t get it done soon.
Tim, I followed the links you shared to your TrueFire page but not seeing this course or lesson represented? Can you share a link so I can try and buy the PDF for this specific lesson?
This isn’t a TrueFire course although I have some that have similar content. This particular video was created for my TrueFire channel Solo Guitar Sensei.
That’s amazing Tim, thanks so much for sharing! It would be really useful if you would write the chords as text overlay on your video. it would be really useful for the slow people like me who can’t follow 😅

Tim's channel is a hidden gem of UA-cam. If you walk in the woods of guitar playing and find a cool spring to drink from, this is it.
Thank you

Joe Pass plays Tele! Great examples and suggestions, Tim! Knowing our chord inversions is important for developing chord melody ideas. Very well done!

Amazing! How fortunate we are to have you for inspiration like this👏👏😁
Man this is good. Jazz doesn’t get bluesier and vice versa.
Ooh you gotta luv that flamey butterscotch Telecaster with that (TK Smith) CC style p/u ! Sweeeet !
Thank you Tim. Wonderful lesson and very helpful for theory and technique. God bless you
Great stuff, Tim. 🙏👏
This is the best lesson I've seen since I've been following you Tim! Thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
It makes me think to "Joe's blues" on Intercontinental album, great lesson ! 🤗
Amazing!
Good lesson
As always, Master Musician and the Teacher as well.

You right ! greetings from Poland Krakow ! he is a good one
Thank you I love your videos. Happy New Year!
Thanks for this excellent tutorial, Tim. Very valuable for advancing my understanding of music and guitar. I'm studying your stuff on Truefire, too.
verry great😁

Amazing 😮
Please hit the “Thanks” button if you enjoyed this lesson.

So you've got all Bass notes covered and can do the same thing in C7.
You can do this in two positions probably but in this example not necessary.
Thank you Tim!
I love these progressions! This reminds me of your impro in B flat on your Solo Jazz Pathways course on TrueFire which is brilliant. Thanks a lot 👍🍷

Well presented. hope to retire soon with more time to practice! Thank you!
Very cool. Is that a De Armond p-up in bridge position.
GOOD PROGRESSON; IST THIS 1/4 BAR?
What kind of amp and pickup are you using?
what is the pickup you have in there? sounds so good.
I believe it’s the Lollar Charlie Christian
It’s a TK Smith CC
@@TimLerchGuitar Thanks, I will be needing one of those. Any experience with the bladed vs pole piece version?
You should create a new course on Jazz blues for solo guitar on true fire.
It’s in the works thanks
I like the tone of your Telecaster, are you using 11-gauge strings?
Yes 11-50 roundwound
@@TimLerchGuitar I will have to give them a try, thanks.
👍👍👍
Do you know how improvise useing counterpoint Mr Tim?

If you want to learn how to do that, check out Antoine Boyer. He is a master of that.
