  • A simply beautiful longer-form 1976 Christmas commercial for Kodak Film, featuring the Paul Anka song "Times Of Your Life'. Unfortunately the source material has a few brief instances of volume drop in the audio, but it won't prevent you from being able to enjoy this classic holiday commercial.

We’ve lost family members and then added new arrivals, but the generation of children we raised don’t have the same connection with their grandparents as they used to, sad but families don’t seem have the same bond they use to

That's it! I remember the commercial... the young man who was going to cut the tree down and bring it into his home to decorate at Christmastime...but he remembered planting it when he was little...So now he and his family decorate it--still stuck in the ground...I broke down and cried just now, seeing the commercial on UA-cam!

I remember this commercial 42 years ago, I use to watch it and cry, just like im doing now. The song was so pretty then and now, and both mama and daddy, were both alive. Time was so much simplier then, and those camera's, everybody had one. (tearing up now) Kodak xoxo

WHAT a breath of fresh air!! It's not even conceivable that we could ever see a commercial like this today, now exclusively about bombarding the senses with irreverence and hip-intended quick cuts of shlock&smut pushing agenda as much as product... Very cool to hear different lyrics from the actual song, though still sung by Mr Anka. Thank you so much for this! Made my day! 😁

Beutiful song and still brings tears to my eyes after all these years. Apparently the verse, You get the yearning now and then to bring the moments back again, remember..Paul Anka sings in this commercial was only for the commercial. I have not not heard it in any of the recorded versions of the song that were released.

I noticed the same thing. In recordings of the full song, which were made after this ad campaign began, the line you quoted is replaced with, "The good times and the bad you've seen and all the others in between." I think I understand why it was changed. The line from the commercial really drives home the message to get some Kodak film and take pictures so you can preserve and remember the times of your life. But it's really not appropriate for the full song, which is simply a sentimental reflection on life.

Remember taking your film back for development and not knowing what shots you got until you got your prints back? We couldn't wait until we got home to look at them. I started printing out photos from my phone for this reason. Not exactly the same but close. Much better to share than passing your phone around.

SO true, part of a bigger truth, that so many younger people today don't even have a clue about any form of delayed gratification, as parents are apt to cave in immediately to every demand, if it's even feasible.
Oh yeah, it was truly an exciting thing to go down to the Photo Mat to buy my set of pictures I waited 5 days to have developed from my Kodak pocket camera back in the day! Always a great thrill leafing through them...

Today’s kids will never know the anticipation of having to wait for a picture to be developed…and the heartache of finding out that a once in a lifetime moment with their friends wasn’t captured on film because they made a mistake, something that they would have caught using a digital camera or a smartphone. And then having the opportunity to retake the shot again and again until it was perfect. No more red eyes in photos, ever.

Unfortunately Kodak shot themseives in the foot. They didn't think that the digital camera revolution would amount to anything! Thats too bad. By the time they wanted to get on the train, it had already left the station and they were left out into the cold! Too bad! They even had an instant camera for awhile called Color Burst that was actually much better than Polaroid. I had one. I got it for free when I bought a pair of Levi's jeans at Macy's in the early 80s. Polaroid held the patent, took Kodak to court and won. Kodak had to stop production of the camera and the film. Polaroid was then asked if they would make film for the Color Burst cameras. Their reply was short and simple. "NO!" That was the beginning of the end for Eastman Kodak. They were a giant. Back then you could get your pictures developed at the Fotomat or K Mart. Now Rochester, New York's claim to fame is the garbage plate.🤢 Gone, gone, gone. Remember yesterday? 🎼🎵🎶
